Never seen the ref speak to the stadium before, that's pretty cool.
They've been doing it throughout the Tournament, it's a great innovation ...

It would be a lot more interesting to hear the discussion between the ref and VAR when they are at the screen.

You wouldn’t have thought so with some of the hype in the English media before this game.

“Everything stops at 11am on Sunday as nation hopes Lionesses can Bring It Home”

was the front page headline in Friday’s Evening Standard.
When you see an advert for a movie that says, ‘Coming to theatres near you, not to be missed…’ do you think that means you literally have to buy a ticket? It’s just marketing hyperbole. I saw more hype for the Man Utd - Spurs game than the World Cup final.

For me that’s a red. Similar to the penalty I personally don’t agree but an elbow is always a red these days - why isn’t it going to VAR?

No free kick for the foul on the edge of the box, no yellow for the pull back on James and no second yellow for kicking the ball away? Is it different rules?

Heard we were doing ok so thought I would watch this one.
Ultimately, just as frustrating as watching the men, with the same ending.

The men have something to learn from the women's game when it comes to play-acting...apparently.

That said Spain by far the better side today.

Just hate cheats. First time I’ve seen it so obvious in the women’s game. Spain learning from the men’s team and faking injuries and time wasting all over the pitch for the last 30 minutes.

Spain deserved it. Aside from the hitting the bar we didn't really create much.

Sad that the play acting is creeping its way into the women's game though.

Spain far more technically gifted for a team portrayed by the British media as “divided”.

Best team one.

On a train so just caught the last bit on my phone with a poor quality stream, but did the Spanish player who went down with a head injury not handle the ball when she went up for the header from the throw-in in the final seconds?

Spain by far the better team today, the women's equivalent of Burnley in the Championship.

Beaten by a technically better, more skillfull team with better tactics. Reminded me of watching the mens’ team so many times over the last 50 years.

It would be good if Southgate took over the women’s team when he’s finished with the men’s just to take them to the next level.

Thought England huffed and puffed but ultimately lacked quality on the ball, especially in the final third. They should be proud of their tournament overall though especially considering the injuries they had to deal with pre-tournament.

A nothing Yellow for Hemp, a bottled 2nd Yellow for Spain, not giving the foul on James on the edge of the box and played like a fiddle by the Spanish ... I'm sorry but the Referee had a shocker !
