If he works best with a large turnover of players he's going to have to be mighty persuasive to convince some of the squad to leave in the next couple of weeks or six months

Signings have been overwhelmingly younger players, 18-24 in the main , who will be on less money than the older pros we have relied on heavily in the past.

Yes, definitely no arguing that VK hasn't been backed should this season go belly up.

We've committed to very heavy spending, but (hopefully) because most of them are so young the returns could be even heavier should we need them.

We won't be paying anything like all of it up front, we have a good wedge of PL money to come in if we stay up, and it's highly likely that the value of a number of these players will go up significantly over the next 2 / 3 years, so look at it as an investment. (There's always an element of risk in an investment however).
