The money spent on the space programme developed satellites that are used in agriculture increasing their food production. Honestly, why are India developing their computer industry when not everyone can fit in a train? The overt racism (and come back with some mealy mouthed excuse) is shocking!

Bluetooth, LEDs (especially for lighting), velcro, teflon, freeze drying, CAT Scans, Baby formula, prosthetics, home insulation, scratch resistant glasses lenses, CO2 capture and much more were invented due to the technological advancements and extra funding provided by space exploration.

It might be too much for some posters to grasp, but these advancements come at a much slower progression, if not at all without this industry.

For those arguing that they shouldn't do this because of the internal poverty, i see your point. However, the UK (via the UK Space Agency and ESA), USA, Russia, China, Japan, etc. all also fund space exploration and have poverty. India isn't a misnomer.

Did you actually watch the footage, it’s a graphic.
Any don't think anyone here saw it.
Even the Muppet waving the baby flag looked like a Thunderbird.

Impressive 😂

Anyone care to explain exactly what benefits come from landing on the moon ?
Could possibly help improve their nuclear capabilities.

It's also possible that it's nuclear weapons research has helped this space programme.

No you're right it is very impressive... To make a video with sega Dreamcast graphics and have people actually swallowing it. It's almost like as if they intentionally make it so horribly bad looking to mock the flock for believing it.

I think not automatically backing the West in their crusade against the Russian bogeyman is a shrewd and, while we're on the subject of finances, sensible move.
It is in the short term for their own national interest.

Fascism ultimately defeats everyone in the end though, this is why it’s so important to have unity and stop it in its tracks.

I don't believe it either.

When I saw this on the news, I was surprised to see there wasn't a single person out of the entire population of the moon in any footage, no trees, no shops nothing.

And the long term.
Why would India need to be involved at the moment? Far more shrewd to see how things pan out over the next few years.
And, in the meantime, come closer and closer to joining the big boys, "fascist" or otherwise.

the footage shown was a simulation and never meant to be real.

how on earth (or the moon) could that footage have been taken from that 3rd person perspective if it was meant to be real?!

the images taken from the lander of the surface of the moon certainly are real however.

The ones filmed by Stanley Kubrick? Where nickson calls the rocket with a landline to the moon? You can believe whatever you want but I'd be careful with the harsh words.

Indeed, people can believe or believe in whatever they want , but facts remain exactly that . Your “ argument “to deny the multitude of moon landings is little more than basement based lunacy. Enjoy your day .

The moon doesn't even exist so we can't land on it. We're living in a simulation. Nothing is real.

Fake alien invasion to cause the world to unite under one (communist nazi) government. Every "space image" they show us is a cartoon. To make us believe in big bangs, ET's and to disprove the existence of a creator. The most important director of NASA was Werner Von Braun, a dude straight from the Nazi party brought to USA after the war in "operation paperclip". Also working together with 33 degree freemason Walt Disney on the first space travel movies.

Check it out. Look at photographs of earth and any planet or stars from every space agency. Everything is CGI made in Photoshop.

Makes the book of revelation hit differently for sure.

Love how some folks assume "aid" is doled out to help eradicate the poverty in India. What does our contribution work out at per head, I wonder? 50p? 20p?
That will work.
Our contributions, as such, are a pretty desperate attempt to - no pun intended - - to curry favour with a
country rapidly rising in world power and influence.
Indian's government, like ours, has probably no intention of getting rid of poverty and inequality.
It's a bit rich some of the loons on here bemoaning the fact that India'priorities lie in making progress in science, technology and military development.
I think not automatically backing the West in their crusade against the Russian bogeyman is a shrewd and, while we're on the subject of finances, sensible move.
And
You aren't far wrong with the way things are going, I think eventually over a period of time we'll be the 1s relying on India for handouts I just hope they don't forget who helped them on the way & return the favour.

What do you mean by this?

Is the picture of the earth from a rocket in the 50's a cartoon?

Where's your evidence of them being cartoons? You can literally send a weather balloon up into the atmosphere and see earth from there with a camera.
