Forest Away

Post by buzzclarets79 » Fri Aug 25, 2023 12:51 pm

Having never been to the city ground, I’m wondering if anyone can suggest where to park?
Be arriving about 18:30-19:00 due to work. Been suggested the railway station car park but I’m sure they’ll be people on here with suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

There is a car park at the train station - but couldn't say how full it will be on the night.
Parking in and around Rushcliffe Rec (Notts Forest ground - as it isn't in the city - and they rent it from Rushcliffe Borough Council) will be tricky and you'd need to know your way around.
There's lots of parking in and around the city centre and all within walking distance.

I live in NG16 and would usually go in on the tram from Hucknall or Phoenix Park - and both easy to get back onto the M1.
Could be a big crowd on if they beat UTD on Saturday - they are quite delusional and they'll be thinking they'll be top 6 by the end of the season.
They won the European cup twice don't you know.

I recently went to an evening match at Notts county and used the station car park.it was pretty cheap £5 and a very easy walk to the grounds and pretty quick to get away from but there’re a lot of road works around there and my sat nav wasn’t up to date with some new bus lanes so ended up in a bit of confusion and the attendance at our match will be a lot higher than it was at county. You may be better off looking at somewhere south of the ground and river to avoid the roadworks

I usually street park as near as possible to the Stratford Haven in West Bridgford. It'll be busy with friendly Forest Fans, great ales, 15 mins walk to the ground.

Been a while since we've been, so I've no doubt there'll be more parking restrictions in place.

Parking about a mile away at a Premier Inn via the Your Parking Space App. £3.50 for 4 hours.

It’s a great App. Served me well last season.

You could park buckshee anywhere around Holme Pierrepont rowing centre and enjoy a 20 minute leisurely stroll along the riverbank taking you straight to the turnstile.
