Marking from Delcroix left something to be desired.

We had the issue defensively at the start of last season, Blackpool being a prime example, I’ve thought all along it’ll take us at least 5 games to see the team properly.

Trafford playing because of his price tag is scandalous. Most of our play last year came because of Muric and his passing.
If that is truly the case, you are correct. I suspect there's more to it than that. VK has to stick with his conviction even though I (and I assume you, too) thought Muric looked better in pre-season.

It's going to have to be a steep learning curve for Trafford, I'm not convinced yet in his opening two games, he appears to be a bit of a ditherer currently

It’s a complete and utter disgrace.

The most pointless signing when we need reinforcements elsewhere

See the moaners are out already. Arsenal conceded in the first minute yesterday, And Man Utd two by 5 minutes

If Trafford is better in training then he’s suffering from a severe case of stage fright because he hasn’t looked up to it on any of his starts so far, including pre season. Muric made us tick a lot last season.

The step up in standard compared to the Championship is absolutely mind blowingly mental.

poor goal to give away, if you make a mistake in the premier league it gets punished far more readily. Good response though.

Just my thoughts. A quick champ striker, even if they get to that ball like Watkins did there's zero chance he's also dinking a perfectly weighted pass to the back post. And unlikely in the champ a right back has gambled on it even if he did

Benson with a great delivery, there.
I was concerned that he might not be able to make space for himself this season but looks good.

Hate to be pessimistic but this is two games at home where we've desperately highlighted our need for a good left-back.

We've looked much worse than we were against Man City. No idea what's supposed to be happening. We look leggy and weak.

We gave them the first but that one was quality. These look a great team, organised without the ball and electric going forward on the break

Villa are a good side these days. However, our left side is poor. Need a LB desperately. To me Delcroix has been brought in as a 5th choice cheap CB not starting LB

We knew we were playing 3 very good sides to start in City, Villa and Spurs just so strange we decided not to play Luton at home ? Chance to get points on board and 1-2 goals build some confidence.

Villa with key players missing and only playing at 50% are two up in 20 mins. Defense is non existent and weak in attack.

OK, let's see what we've got, then.

Not looked good. To give that first goal: that's what happens with youngsters against men.

Midfield too immobile to cope, missing Brownhill or an equivalent player badly.

And they're striding through the midfield too! We've been abysmal.

Benson is just letting Digne do whatever he wants. Needs to work much harder defensively. We look wide open on nearly every counter.

Didn't Al Dakhil play on the left against City. Might be better swapping them round. It can't be any worse if we try it.

I'd like to see Larsen on for Koleosho, Brownhill for Foster. Desperately need a bit more presence

It's been said many times before but it's really noticeable how bigger Premier League players are than Championship ones. The Villa lads look massive. And quicker and fitter all over the pitch.

Not sure that would do anything.

They are just much better. Brownhill and Larsen would be chasing shadows.

Koleosho obviously has so much potential but should be nowhere near our starting lineup.

We knew it would take time and at least we are playing the better teams first. We could be in Everton's position, losing to those in the table expected to be round us.
