Atmosphere - First two games

Been a bit poor, i know conceding early doesn't help but thought it would be better. They need our support.

we just don't have a loud fanbase, even when we were walking the league last year the atmosphere was flat a lot of the times, maybe except some of them late come backs

people would rather put their efforts into moaning about people standing up and the cost of a cup of tea

It's been fine - it got going when the team got going, and was in a lull after conceding. Like every other ground in the country. Early goals against never help either.

Turf Moor is at it's best when the referee has wronged us.
Keep booing.

I don't want to start another "early leavers" argument, I know some people have their reasons for doing so but a half-empty ground before the final whistle hardly screams "great fans".

It was probably rocking because they were well in the game for 50-odd minutes. Turf atmos was good for that 20 minute or so spell after Lyle's goal because we were in the game.

Crystal Palace don't seem to have any swear words in their songs, so the cameras and microphones get placed next to their ultras section.

Broadcasters daren't turn the microphones up near our fans as they would just have to keep apologising.

Atmospheres always seem better on TV due to the microphones being next to the loudest parts of the ground. It's the same myths with Anfield on European nights under the lights, big derbies, etc. The atmosphere is never as good as you expect in most cases.

Got to admit watching on the TV it was disappointing.

I think our fans need to step up and show we can compete with fans from big teams like Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle, Villa, Brighton etc

Actually shocked about how little support we've had this season.

Bigger percentage of fair weather premier league match goers?

Hmm-given that the ground was nearly full last season in the championship and its nearly full now, who are these new fans? When the team goes 2 down in the first few mins of any game it will dampen the mood. And there is more to being a fan than "singing" some crass songs about dead people at 200 bpm!

It’s been said before but sitting in the longside block 1 (nearest cricket field) it’s very very difficult to hear the CFS, that goes for away fans too unless they are all in full voice together. I’ve watched numerous vlogs after games and I’m left thinking was I at a different game. That certainly doesn’t help the atmosphere, but as others have said it’s really deflating when you concede so early (especially in the prem, that we’ve been here before feeling is hard to shake off)

I sit in cricketfield and that has not been as good as usual. Probably die to the early goals to be fair

Got better things to do than spend half my Saturday or Sunday watching Burnley live when I can just set aside 2 hours to watch it on TV.

What I would like is those that make the effort to go on the games to just give an extra 5% or 10% in making it a better atmosphere for us armchair fans.

This is very much the case, broadcasters will turn off/down the microphones at TM due to the bad language in case any sensitive viewers are left shocked by real life. This is why other fans will always say that the Burnley - Rovers rivalry is rubbish as there was no atmosphere, there is, it’s just that it’s turned down for TV because of the language. Saying that, the atmosphere has been pretty dire first two games with the exception of the away fans.

Let's face it the ground is half full of plastics/people who are only there because we're in the Prem these days.
And after all our years in the Prem in recent times there's not a massive buzz to be back, when most people realise we're just making up the numbers.

Always been impressed with Palace fans at home, the singing and noise from them is almost non stop throughout the game. If it wasn’t for our fans singing in the CFS it would be really quiet.

We definitely get turned down because of the language on TV. Don't actually think it has been that bad. The JHU lost loads to the CFS but we've been more proactive vocally in my block under Vinny than Dyche.

A drum!

Worth noting: if you think the atmosphere is bad try and get something going yourself

When the result is a foregone conclusion and the score line isn’t tight it will always be flat. Atmosphere started off ok and at the beginning of the 2nd half when pushing for an equaliser. Atmosphere overall was better against City as were doing our best. I thought we looked very disappointing against Villa and at no point did it look like we could win. How anyone can comment on the atmosphere by watching a TV is beyond me.

CFS was empty at 5-1 down....

To be honest the only real noise at the end was coming from the away fans.

A half full CFS at 5-1 made more noise than a full CFS from 46 to 80 minutes. Better to be singing than getting on the players backs so fair play.

I am in the JML and to be honest with you I didn't really hear that. In fact I saw loads bailing from the CFS as soon as Son's last one went in at around 65 mins. No criticsim, it's their moneyl, their choice, but I think anyone watching or listening might have been confusing the Spurs fans who went into party mode for the last 30 mins.

Don’t be daft. CFS home fans were loud today for the last 30 minutes. My ears are still ringing at Sandbach services!

Let’s have this right.

60% of the CFS left, probably less for the longside. To be fair for all the **** I give them, the Bob Lord stayed but didn’t sing as usual.

The few that were left in the CFS absolutely sung their hearts out. As did the Longside. I can barely speak now. Completely outsung the Spurs fans and they were rightly applauding us at the end as you say.

Certainly the atmosphere was better in the last 30 than it’s been in the previous two games.

If others couldn’t hear it on the TV, I’m really sorry. Come to TM and help create an atmosphere soon.

What I don't get is the passion from 1-5 down?

Nothing at 1-1,1-2 1-3,1-4. Nothing. Imho very poor.

Bit weird.
