I don't think those two results will have any bearing on it at all.
Obviously watched then, if that's the judgement he made:
Faesen reporting that Tresor doesn’t think he’ll fit into our playing style. Given he’s also knocked back Palace & Fulham, you have to wonder what playing style he thinks he is suited to.

But the guy literally said in an interview he would like to come to Burnley... Ain't it weird?

Bizarre. He made comments that he was a big fan of Kompany’s style earlier this summer.

That’s just the transfer rules and Genk’s European status I’ve got wrong this morning then
If Genk loses they will probably put him on a train themselves

Footy insiders saying we have had a loan bid rejected for Eric Dier, I did say he would be perfect yesterday

Obviously you know Belgium football more than me, I’m just going off the face of it 14 goals and 14 assists sounds great
Yeah every time I see him play he's rubbish. Took an incredibly dumb red card against Servette when Genk was dominating the game. A guy pulled his shirt he turns around and kicks him, Genk loses and are out of the Champions League.

Perhaps he feels he's physically not fast or fit enough to run after guys like we just did in our first two games. Which I could understand...
On the other side if you want to be an international and become the best you can, you should play against the best. Why chicken out? Find the whole situation bizarre and was expecting a let's go today from Sacha Tavolieri.

This has agent rather than player written all of it. Wanting one of the big boys to come in. Dangerous game to play. If it IS the player and he’d rather play in the Jupiler, then I’d rather we didn’t sign him.

He certainly can’t think another season at Genk will help his career, whether that’s from a football or financial point of view.
I wonder if he’s got wind of interest from elsewhere and he’s hedging his bets.

Can anyone tell me why Lukebakio Verbruggen Tresor and apparently Sambi have said no to Burnley?
Is the food rubbish? Does it smell bad? Are the ladies not so sightly at Burnley?
Do we offer minimum wages?
All these guys were destined to come yet for some odd reason decided not to. I just can't wrap my head around it. It can't be the wage being offered can it?
It'll be the wages, it's always the wages.

Most likely he is an emotional guy and his gut is not telling him to stay put. Probably not the best player for us if he is so easily influenced by his emotions.

Sounds like greed to me. Didn’t money hold him up a few days ago?
Playing style was reported but sounds like a smokescreen. It would suit him perfectly, he is quick and clever but not great in the air. That is us.
We need someone for the here and now even though our young players should huge potential and will have occasional success this season. But, Tresor iis 24 and when we see Koleosho and Odobert in recent games, how good will they be in 6 years at a similar age? I liked the look of Tresor but if he is messing the club about it may be time to trust what we have in those positions.

One of 2 things.
Agent playing games.
Bigger offer has come in or is about to.
Anthoni -
Lukebakio : Hertha and Sevilla are part of same ownership group. Certainly something gone on there to lubricate the move. To be fair, Sevilla v Burnley.... I can understand a none Burnley fan going Sevilla.
Verbruggen : I think we couldn't compete with Brighton's offer.
Lokonga : Seemed to wanted massive wages having flopped at Arsenal.
Re the town : None of the players live there to my knowledge, Most live in Manchester and Cheshire, 40 mins to an hour. So the food, ladies and fragrance don't apply.
Turf Moor is great on match days.

Newcastle people just duffed up their own captain and his wider family outside a nightclub, doesn’t seem to have stopped them buying players.

See my earlier post re wages.
Although the second one was slightly tongue in cheek, we all know players don't care about things like that if they get paid enough money.

Clock is ticking. We still are in desperate need of:
Left back
Holding midfielder
Striker
And we need to ship a few out to trim the squad. Busy few days hopefully

Seems to be too many prima donnas in football these days with the amount of money involved. I'm happy with us not signing Lokonga and Tresor if that's the reason. We're better off without them. The PL is tough and we need players who are 100% behind VK and the club.

Joseph Paintsil. Forward from Genk. 18 goals and 14 assists last year. Saints and Leeds after him and we are now interested.

Even when it is a player Spurs don't want to keep there is little to no point entertaining the idea of of contacting Daniel Levy regards a transfer with less than 6 weeks left of a window

I checked in last night as soon as I saw Sacha Tavolieri break the news about the Tresor deal being off. My guy only found out during the game last night that Tresor hadn’t travelled. Don’t know whether VK would have known before the game or found out after.
Told to expect a few more. Daka from Leicester loan with an option and Massengo on a free (though Bristol will be due some compo due to his age)
Not got any other names yet and whether the Tresor deal falling through and the Ekdal injury leads to us looking at other players I don’t yet know.

As part of the Nunes deal, Tommy Doyle is going the other way on loan with a £4.3M option to make it permanent, as per John Percy.
An absolute steal in this market and a move I would’ve liked us to make, certainly at that price.

We can have 1 loan from City. Would you want THB, Gomez or Philips?
Tough one, but Philips, because he is an excellent holding cm and can play cb. However, I could also see THB in both roles. As for left back, I still live in hope of a IM loan.
Doubt Taylor will be going anywhere atm.

They’ve only got him at that price as part of the Nunes deal.
It will be to do with Wolves FFP. They’ll be limited in what they can spend.

Obviously heavily discounted as part of a sweetener in the deal for the player going the other way. Interestingly city have a 50%!! Sell on clause for him so should Doyle turn into a top player city will be paid handsomely.

I would have preferred; having watched the highlights from last night Tresor is now on a flight to Manchester.
Ekdal, Ramsey and Vitihinho all minor knocks.
Ian Maatsen is due for a medical at Burnley.
Kalvin Phillips is due for a medical at Burnley also today.

I've just moved on from Tresor.
Can't stand ego-maniacs. He seems like a circus act. Teams can't be built around poor characters. That may be an over-reaction in istelf but I haven't got a lot to form an opinion on. "Wanting to be convinced" when all is agreed!
Move on.

We are apparently having to be careful around FFP (unsurprisingly) which a few journos have reported as a reason for our recent deal structures.
The left back is a must, as is a CM, so I would prefer to buy THB outright for £12m if there was a chance of loaning one of the other two, though, I prefer a straight loan to be someone from the top drawer to ensure we benefit, thus Phillips (I see Dier was turned down). Top drawer for us I mean, obvs.
City wanted £15m for THB but got no takers, they maybe tempted by £12m now. If we have to sell one or two to facilitate within FFP, so be it.
Tough job for our folk negotiating this window, sounds like a minefield.

Agreed.
Still a circus.
Yes it is, got proper orsic feel about it, to me there’s no way Tresor makes the comments he did about kompany earlier in the window and suddenly changes his mind without someone getting in his ear.

Couldn’t care less to be honest. His career before last season looks pretty insipid on paper and it seemingly took him a year in a far poorer league to start making any impact, how long would it have taken him to adapt to this level?
If he has no faith in himself and would rather mess about playing in front of 15 men and a dog at a lot of fixtures that’s his prerogative, he’s clearly not got the ambition and heart that is required for the battle we’ve got ahead of us. Forget about him and let’s see who we get instead.

If he doesn't want to be here then 'cheerio'. We've plenty of strength in his position who do.

Newcastle people just duffed up their own captain and his wider family outside a nightclub, doesn’t seem to have stopped them buying players.
What's this all about?
