Re: Club Mascots
The first mascot I can remember was sometime in the '60s when a rather plump lad did a lap of the cinder track with some of the crowd jeering him.

Re: Club Mascots
I'm still cross about this debacle, especially the frosty email I got from the club denying any issues with the system that chaotic day they launched the packages. I requested a refund which they refused so now I've paid £20 for what essentially is a poor quality and very babyish bag of goodies, but the free shirt printing is good at least so I can get some money back in a way.
And no way can I afford to pay £250. I hope the wealthy kids enjoy their experiences! Sorry for the negativity in what is an exciting season ahead, but this one has really got my goat, I'm just glad I didn't mention anything to my kid about it and avoided huge disappointment.

Re: Club Mascots
They changed the process to a ballot after the first set of games sold out straight away and people that were unable to access the system rightly complained.MoorTurf wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 8:50 amMorning All,
Did anyone on here enter the ‘ballot’ for a chance to buy one of the mascot packages?
Apparently the club are going to email the ‘lucky’ few today who get the opportunity to purchase the packages?
Bearing in mind the shoddy comms from the club about this - I don’t suppose we’ll get an email to say we were unsuccessful so was hoping to hear from someone on here how they got on, so I can manage my son’s disappointment like after the fiasco of the first round of games !
Cheers
UTC
My mum has entered it for my nephew. I’ll find out if she’s heard anything.

She hasn’t had any email yet
Re: Club Mascots
Cheers Wilks, neither have I.
I’m not expecting one unless it’s a positive one anyway, so not sure it’s a good thing or not!

Another PR master class isn’t it
Re: Club Mascots
Well… we got the email.
My son got picked for one of the VIP ones.
What they didn’t say before entering the ballot is that they were putting UP the prices again from £250 to *£300* !!
Extortionate.
I’m waiting on an answer as to what my son gets extra than the mascot for the Man Utd game, who would have paid £50 less in the previous round of matches.
Think I’m going to tell them to shove it at that price.

Re: Club Mascots
£300 is ridiculous, have they lost their minds. We are Burnley not Chelsea the money grabbing shysters!

Think it was down as £75 for the “player escort”
We’ve not had an email

My email was sent at 16:56 - good tactic to avoid having to answer questions from angry parents until tomorrow no doubt!

Re: Club Mascots
I am at a loss as to why the club would charge for such things as this. The cost to the club of this must be absolutely minimal compared with the overall costs of running a club. The cost could also be categorised as 'marketing' as you are investing in the future generation of fans.

Re: Club Mascots
Just to add it is the “player escort” package we’ve gone for not the full mascot (and it is a Christmas present for him)
Re: Club Mascots
Glad you got one Wilks!
Out of interest, have they put the the price of that one up too?

Thank your lucky stars you're not a Citeh fan (in more ways than one)
As regards mascots, I've just read this morning that they are charging £2,100 a time for kids to "meet their treble winning aces". It includes a ticket and hospitality !!!!! For older kids and adults it rises to £3,200 !!!!
How lucky are they to be supporting a mega rich club.

Where have you read this? It was free last season because I know someone who did it. Sounds like it's changed from this season.Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 10:41 amThank your lucky stars you're not a Citeh fan (in more ways than one)

Re: Club Mascots
Ballot now open for the next set of games, no mention of cost so it's probably up to £1000 now
