Trafford 6 - shot stopping is really good but he doesn’t come off his line at all. Doesn’t relieve pressure for the rest of the team and is a lot slower than Aro in posession.
Roberts 7
Al Dak 7
Beyer 7
Taylor 7
Cullen 6
Brownhill 7
Koleosho 8
Amdouni 8
Gudmundsson 6
Foster 6 (minus for the red)

Zaroury 6
Berge 7
I’d like to amend my Charlie Taylor rating to an 8.
Just rewatched some of it, he was brilliant.

Told you Berges best position was inside right and not CDM.
I don't think he played as an inside right, and in any event I've been arguing he should play alongside Brownhill and Cullen in a 3, with Cullen the most defensive of the three.

He for sure didn’t play as an ‘inside right’ but you’ve definitely been suggesting for him to start deep as a sitting midfielder.

Anyway, last night clearly shows what and where’s he’s best at.

I've been saying that he should play in midfield. He's a box to box midfielder. He should be coming onto the ball, backing up the play, not playing ahead of the ball and ending up playing half with his back to goal.

Cullen is the deepest of our midfield. I'd happily have Berge alongside him, but in a team that want to play progressive football that second midfielder is more an 8, than a 6 and is always going to have licence to break forwards. I've said all along I'd have Brownhill starting in a more advanced role than Berge because he presses so well, but once again (and we saw this last night) the combination means there is scope for rotation as we build up our play and in effect this would be - as it was last night - a system with two "8s".

From tv, and having watched the full game again today.

Trafford 7 didn’t have a lot to do, but I’m still not convinced he is better than Muric.
Roberts 7 nice to see an international right back playing at right back, he had a good game and his long throw ins were quite effective.
AlDakil 6 poor first half with bad distribution.
Beyer 8 dodgy first 20 minutes, but after that he was very good
Taylor 9 after watching the replay of the match today, he simply did not put a foot wrong for the whole of the game. His defensive tackles all won, distribution faultless, midfield/attacking play very good. He should have been playing from day one, he makes such a difference to our defence. My man of the match.
JBG 6 quiet game but did a job with simple passes and assisting the defence.
Cullen 7 like the rest of the team he had an average first 25 minutes but then got involved.
Brownhill 7 his industry and reading the game have been missed.
Oleosho 7 a star in the making but he needs more end product. As VK said after the game “he loves to run at their defence but he has to learn to run smart”
Amdouni 7 great technique for the goal and helps a lot in attacking play. He will get better with time
Foster 7 he certainly works so hard and lets the other team’s defence they know they have been in a game. He has to learn from his silly elbow at the end of the game.

Berge 8 showed what a skilful and effective player he can be.
Zaroury 6 in the first half of last season he was almost unplayable, but since the World Cup his pass and crossing selection has been average. He needs to get back to basics.

I’m sorry but VAR and the refs’ behaviour using VAR is killing football as a spectacle. Now I realise why I loved last season in the Championship so much.

I've done the same - watched on tv and looked at a replay today - except I missed the first five minutes because I was fooled by the KO time!).

I agree exactly with your player ratings, especially Taylor (who kept the dangerous Elanga pretty quiet) and Zaroury (I was surprised he was brought on instead of Benson).

I only don't agree with your last sentence in that I loved The Championship because every game was winnable, and loseable.

Excellent
8 - Very Good
7 -Good
6 - Average
5 - Below Par

From TV

Trafford 6 just average, not seeing anything really regarding him starting us off from the back, no Chace with the goal.

Roberts 6
Taylor 8
Al Dakhil 6
Beyer 7

Brownhill 7. Don't think he should any where near taking set pieces
Cullen 7
Gudmundsson 6
Amdouni 7 but added 1 for the well taken goal, otherwise it would be 6
Koleosho 8. Just shades CT for My Man of the Match
Foster 6. Would have been 7 but for the red card

Zaroury 6
Berge 8. certainly the best I've seen him play, really helped us improve at a time I thought we might lose the game

Taylor 8
Brownhill 7
Cullen 7
JBG 5
Amdouini 8
Koleosho 8 MOM
Foster 7
