Our train from Manchester has cost £47 each, bargain nowadays. Same price as our train for Arsenal too.

Never thought I'd feel nostalgic for Virgin Trains at all but at least they did offer pretty cheap advance tickets every now ans then whereas Avanti never seem to

Again thank you Aggi. Obviously for example, being a season ticket holder here in Dorset, the Bournemouth game is pretty much a luxury home game for me. If I don’t get a ticket because they are snapped up before they get to my tier, that’s annoying but fair. What wouldn’t be so acceptable is if after travelling 500 miles for home games I miss out due to a system misuse. Actually probably the mileage isn’t relevant but the issue is. I’m sure it happens but at least some form of initial check is made.

I’ve used National Express before and found them to be reliable and very good value. These are prices from Leeds to London as of 5 minutes ago. Obviously, travel to the ground from Victoria required too. About £25 return after booking fee added.
