Tour de Vinny Cycling Challenge

Post by Ightenhill_Claret » Mon Oct 16, 2023 1:17 pm

I'm not sure how many cyclists we have on the board but in case anyone is interested, me and a mate have organised a charity cycling challenge called the Tour de Vinny which will see a group of cyclists ride from Anderlecht in Brussels to Turf Moor (via a few other stops including KV Mechelen and Manchester City to name just two football grounds on the route).

We're raising money for three charities and so far we've got about 10-12 cyclists interested in joining us (it started out as something for me and mate to do for our 40th next year!).

The charities we've chosen are the Barry Kilby Prostate Cancer Appeal, Andy's Man Club and BX Brussels, which is a charity that VK and his dad Pierre are involved in in Brussels.

Anyway, we've a Twitter account at www.x.com/tourdevinny and if anyone does fancy finding out more about the ride and perhaps taking part then you can email hello(at)tourdevinny.co.uk

Cheers

I'd absolutely love to do a challenge like this but it's beyond me at the moment. I've liked your twitter page and will throw some money in on payday. Good luck

Well done doing this for such great causes. It will be a challenge but no doubt you’re all fit athletes :) . I still enjoy some cycling these days but with the help of a certain Mr Battery :!: I’m too old now to join you but I’ll certainly donate. Good luck to all who take part.

Thanks for the positive responses! We're just doing all the logistics at the moment and the plan is to ride to arrive back at the Turf in time for the Newcastle United game.
