I can see the drummer with their head inserted into their drum after about ten minutes!1989_claret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 1:44 pmIf the club doesn't listen to fans before installing a drummer and it goes ahead then we will have to make our feelings known when it starts to be banged by trying to drown it out by booing or chanting that the drum can be placed up someone's backside etc.

One of the drummers roles:
Keep a beat during the game to keep the fans engaged and excited

Re: Drummers required...DRUMMERS
I cynically exhale whenever I see a drummer at an away ground, and it’s so many of them these days. Chesterfield have one and the thought of Turf Moor sounding like that regimented garbage that pretends to be a spontaneously good atmosphere makes me feel ill. It’s manufactured rubbish.
There is no scientific analysis required for understanding the currently crap atmosphere at home games - it’s because we’ve already grown accustomed to being pummelled heavily and the teams heads are dropping as soon as we concede, the fans are doing the same. It will naturally improve as performances do. That’s the only difference between last season and this, we didn’t need a drum when we were winning, surprisingly. There have been a great many problems with the games at Turf Moor this season but the lack of a drum is somewhere between ‘pre-game parachutist’ and ‘Chico’ on the list.

Guarantee most people complaining also complain about the atmosphere and do absolutely nothing to help create and atmosphere.

Re: Drummers required...DRUMMERS
Why don’t the people making this decision, ask themselves why didn’t they do this last season? The answer should be obvious.
Also VK has always said Burnley is an intimidating place to come and wants to maintain that.
Considering what’s happened on the pitch this season the atmosphere has not been too bad and will return to last seasons level once the matches become more competitive again.
If someone was to bang a drum when 4.1 down to Chelsea there would be thousands queuing to ram the drum stick where the sun doesn’t shine.
This is a total misreading of what Burnley fans are about , a couple off tough challenges is all that was needed in the past when the fans were quiet.

Re: Drummers required...DRUMMERS
Maybe we can ask 'the powers that be' to meet us half way and setup an official supporters band, just like the awesome England one. It will be great to have Rule Britannia, our No Nay Never anthem and Rule Britannia played over and over again throughout the 90+ minutes. It will enhance the match day experience, both home and away, and for those watching the match on TV. I think it will be an absolute banger.
By the way, I might not be entirely serious.

The atmosphere has been poor because we've lost the last 5 home games. Keith Moon couldn't sort that out.

Re: Drummers required...DRUMMERS
To be serious, it's the worst idea they have come up with since the takeover. Monotonous repetitive drumming, or something along the lines of that dreadful England supporters band, would be an absolute Turf Moor passion killer for me. I'd rather listen to the opposition fans chanting and bantering throughout the match, than put myself through 90+ of mind-numbing torment.

Next week they'll advertise for a bloke with a megaphone, at least the club won't have to install a gantry for them to stand on, they can use the redundant ones at the front of the JHU.

Thing is, if we start making a noise when the drum is banged, then the club will see that as a success1989_claret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 1:44 pmIf the club doesn't listen to fans before installing a drummer and it goes ahead then we will have to make our feelings known when it starts to be banged by trying to drown it out by booing or chanting that the drum can be placed up someone's backside etc.
Much like when they said we must like the goal music, as every time it is played, fans are cheering & dancing

What is the latest with the fan advisory board? I contacted a couple of them a year or so when it first started with an issue I had and was promised they’d raise it but never heard back (despite chasing).
Are all the members younger people? The two I contacted were both under 30 and I see them on Twitter a lot and believe they do podcasts and I seem to see their pictures at various club related activity.

Perhaps flags like newcastle or Liverpool would be a better idea.
As another poster said perhaps a local band singing No Nay Never or something would be better suited

The ironic thing is that the speed merchants in the CFC stand are incapable of chanting at a slower pace, and to get a slower pace, a drum may be required.

the responses on this thread show how some don't see what is happening at the club or to the Premier League in the long term. The atmospheres at some stadiums is brilliant, the atmosphere under the culvert when they had the parade was brilliant yet nobody harnessed it and re-created it before games. You've seen the difference it made at Arsenal when they got organized.
The 'it's not Burnley' is the biggest heap of **** I've ever heard
Nobody can complain, it's self inflicted, we have one of the worst atmosphere in the division

it needs to be in conjunction with. When the club gave everyone a scarf when we played Cardiff the atmosphere was incredible on all 4 sides of the ground. Like it or not, the PL is about image and razzmatazz - the one thing the Americans do better than any place on planet earth.
People need to get on board because it will happen either way

I thought we were supposed to be getting organised, with the club liaising with fan(s) on creating a better atmosphere?
It’d be interesting to hear those fans (Macca?) views on this and whether or not they’ve discussed this sort of thing with the club. Any plans to create a better atmosphere don’t seem to be working so far - it’s been poor this season, even accounting for the poor results, which really is when you want the fans support even more.
