It would also help if half of the time we don’t sing about them lot down the road. Even the new Koleosho song references them. It’s weird.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 3:36 pmI think our away support is fantastic (arguably one of the best).
However I don’t think he’s far off in relation to our home atmosphere. The only team I think is worst is Bournemouth. Worst atmosphere I’ve ever seen.

That is one of two games this season where atmospheres have impressed me.
The other newcastle Vs PSG where the bar I was in watching the game was literally shaking

exactly this. Their supporters got together and got organized BECAUSE they undoubtedly had one of the worst atmosphere's in the league. It was a problem and they fixed it mostly themselves (I believe the club helped with funding of flags etc). We clearly haven't done that despite people calling for the scenes under the Culvert to be recreated before home games.

The Premier League is a world wide brand, it is becoming more and more Americanized every season. It's a get on board situation regardless if we like it or feel comfortable with it.

I agree it used to be bad..... But they've adopted the palace system where they let a group of the noisiest fans stand together every game.... At arsenal it's the right hand side of the goal at the same end as the away fans are. . you aren't reading what I put, i'm talking about THIS season. They had one of the worst, undeniable. It's not now because the fans and the club got together. Yes Brentford are good - like Spurs this season, clever picking of music before the game, at half time and after the game plays a part. Arsenal also introduced a fan written song that they play before every game, their version of 'You'll never walk alone' if you like and it's made a massive difference.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 4:04 pmSo you haven't been, it's heresay. Improving the atmosphere is straight forward - simply a matter of moving the pitch a little and re-housing the away support. Plus locking up anyone seen in the vicinity of Turf Moor on match day carrying a drum

We do desperately need some new chants like, no doubt about that - uplifting chants that are about the team and not how much we hate Blackburn or love women’s genitalia and preferably not at 240 BPM

I attended football matches for over 30 years. I'm aware, but I'm also aware of the Premier League noise over here and I would imagine that is replicated in other countries too. I'm aware the sound engineers turn mics up and down when songs have swear words in them, it's been going on for decades (on a different note I would think AI technology should help them massively with that)ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 4:18 pmYour comments are based on how it looks, and sounds on TV. The atmosphere at Burnley is bad because we keep losing badly. The atmosphere at Arsenal has been better than ever starting from last season when they started winning a lot. Like pretty much every club in England, our home fans will only generate a good atmosphere if the team inspires it.
Hiring a drummer isn't going to change that, it's just going to be quite annoying.

Isn't it weird how we weren't having these conversations last season when were winning regularly? And the atmosphere was ace. Lots of nonsense on this thread, not least from Vegas, who really needs to visit a few PL grounds and compare/contrast. It's difficult to get things going not only when we're losing regularly, but in the manner we've been losing. I don't even think the atmosphere has been that bad considering what we've watched. It's the usual fare served up though when we have a bad run, it's just unfortunate that the club have started to big brain it now too.

We badly need a club song or songs. I watch SC Freiburg on occasions. ALL THE SUPPORTERS sing their two club songs before every game and the atmosphere is tremendous for 90+ minutes, win or lose. The same can be said for all German Stadia. I used to dislike 'I'm Gonna Be' but I think there is a place for it now before the start of our home games (or a similar song or piece of classical music which creates an atmosphere)

I watched a BIG 12 Conference game in Austin - Texas Longhorns vs Kansas Jayhawks - 95,202 people in attendance and you could hear a pin drop.
Conversely been to a Titans game and it was the same - incidentally the best American Football atmosphere was the Chiefs vs Lions at... Wembley.
Desperately need new chants and to get stuck in/not be **** and we'll be fine.
But the rest of the ground has to make an effort - there's like the Cricket field and a few blocks of the Longside that attempt anything.

Nothing has compared to the Leauge Cup run and United win at home under horse face, sadly.

that's why the scarf is a better idea than a drum, it includes everyone in the ground. I get why they are going to trial a drum but I don't think it's the right thing - but they have to try something because the fans aren't taking it upon themselves to do anything.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 4:42 pmSome College teams bring it, LSU, Texas A&M, Penn State etc - especially to start the game and when the away team is on 3rd down

Nail on head, exactly.daveisaclaret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 4:25 pmThe atmosphere at Burnley is bad because we keep losing badly. The atmosphere at Arsenal has been better than ever starting from last season when they started winning a lot. Like pretty much every club in England, our home fans will only generate a good atmosphere if the team inspires it.
Hiring a drummer isn't going to change that, it's just going to be quite annoying.
Where were the calls for a drummer or the like last season? We didn't need it because we were winning every week. If Arsenal were getting bent over each week at home whatever they are doing at the Emirates would be a wet fart in the wind as well.
There is only one cure for the atmosphere - results - and it has ever been thus at Turf Moor going back the entire 31 years I have been going on. It would be great if the fans were able to be loud, resilient to the poor performances and goals flying in against us and somehow turn the tide through sheer noise and intimidation but the reality is that has never been the case at Burnley. We have always been a fab set of fans away from home but largely fair weather in terms of noise at Turf Moor....in my opinion.

Because he's based it on heresay having not witnessed it. It's always been flat previously, really flat, not called the library for nothing. We are there in a few weeks so we can see what it's like then.claretcarrot93 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 4:52 pmArsenals atmosphere is much improved and is one of the best in the league now.
