Definitely short on a quality defensive midfield signing (Cork 2017) so in the meantime I think the only option is for Brownhill to play alongside Cullen.
You then have a choice to play either Berge, Amdouni ormaybe even Ramsey in the No10 role behind Foster and then you need to pick your two wingers from the 6 or 7 available
Id play Berge in the forward No10 role and then Koleosho left and Brun Larson right but I think there are good arguments for lots of combinations of the three players behind Foster so its up to VK to find the best one.
I would like to see Zaroury given a chance so I think he should be pushing Koleosho for a start with Tresor, Benson and Odebert pushing Brun Larson
Given the plethora of wingers, all of a good standard, I think we should be selecting them on how good they are at defensive duties. That probably excludes Zaroury and Tresor to be honest. Koleosho has looked lively without producing enough final balls, but he always puts a shift in defensively, especially helping Roberts out. He also has the ability to win the ball and then carry it forward, which Tresor has yet to show us.
Brun Larsen would be my other choice, although he still has questions to answer.
Having never seen Masengo play I have no idea how he would fair in the middle, at this level, but Cullen needs at least one, and preferably 2 alongside him in the middle. Cork could do a job as the third man, but if it's only the one it has to be Brownhill.
whoever is in there, Trafford and the back 4 have to be a hell of a lot smarter in their use of the ball. As Gary O'Neill said last night, you try and create the gaps through the middle, BUT you also have to practice for the longball if those opportunities don't open. We just paint ourselves in to dark corners.
