Trafford & Muric
Vitinho Al Dakhil O Shea Delcroix Taylor Zaroury
Brownhill Massengo
Foster
Trafford can do the shot stopping then pass it to Muric who can put Foster clean through

Re: Bournemouth next week
You could be right.
I’m almost thinking a totally radical change. Introducing cork into the mix with Brownhill.
My main concern with that team is the back four, Vitinho with Al Dakhil on the right looks like a massive issue area. Especially if Amdouni is supposed to be doing the tracking back.
Re: Bournemouth next week
Slightly different take but agreed it is hard to find the midfield. Is Benson Injured? 4 2 3 1

Re: Bournemouth next week
Need some protection for the defence, Brownhill the only ratter we have. If were not playing football like last season Cullen is null and void in this league. Get some experience back in the side with Cork and Redmond. Muric back in for obvious reasons. Ekdal needs to be back.

I think VK put O Shea RB when Roberts got sent off, knowing CR would not be available Saturday. For me O Shea over Vitinho any day as a full back. Much better defendert

Bournemouth are absolutely dire. We will beat them. Quietly confident. The season turns at the weekend.

From the first match against City, making so many changes to the side, I feel we lost momentum & cohesion last seasons team could've carried into this season. Agree with posters on here, time for pragmatism and experience at this level or a similar level. Cork needs to be on the pitch.

It's going to be all about ball retention & building confidence .
A one nil will do and we have plenty of options from the bench to liven it up if behind.

Got to get some early stability and know how. Later the rapid wingers. Pick any of them. Benson/Zaroury/Koleosho preferred. Rodriguez too later.

Agree totally with the front 3, Larsen definitely deserves a start for me, and I'd like to see Zaroury in. Redmond/JBG for experience could also be an option.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 7:47 pmTrafford (no point saying muric it’s not happening

Definitely want Cork and Cullen in the holding/deep lying playmaker positions, and either Brownhill/Berge in the more attacking midfield position, again based on experience.
Goalkeeper for me is an easy one, Muric must be in to take Trafford out of the firing line and give him a rest. Undoubtedly a good shot stopper, but not your keeper if you want to play it on the floor.
Muric may fail, but he needs a chance either way.
The back four is the most difficult selection for me due mainly to injuries, in a fully fit and available back four I would go for Taylor and O'Shea as full backs, Ekdal and Beyer as centre halves. due to injuries it would have to be Delcroix and Al-Dakhil.
We need to be more solid defensively and direct on the counter attack. the young lads coming off the bench a la Benson last season can also have a big impact in the closing stages.

Totally agree - but it’s a long time since he was picked
Re: Bournemouth next week
He is and it's really bizzare why Kompany thought O'Shea and Delcroix should play ahead of him in the first few games while everyone was available.

Re: Bournemouth next week
Doesn’t need many changes. Just needs the shape vs Forest away after we brought Berge on and were sensational.
That day he came on for JBG so I would play him narrow on the right, Brownhill and Cullen in the middle. Amdouni can stay behind Foster. Left wing is debatable, I would go for Tresor in his favoured position, or Zaroury, but Tresor is a bit more direct, I sense he has more to offer and needs games.
Defence would be Vitinho for Roberts, O’Shea if Vit is unfit. Delcroix at LCB with Beyer unfit.
I would pick Muric but he won’t.
The vital thing to remember is we don’t need to win - they have to come to us and this is away. Sheff Utd last season showed the difference between home and away, we can’t start moaning if we go down away again. Only the top 3 have won more than twice away so far, its hard.

Re: Bournemouth next week
In that set up he needs to get Taylor hugging that touch line but he hasn’t done that all season and it’s been exasperating the problem. I sound like a broken record but the full backs are what is killing usIanMcL wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2023 11:44 amMuric

Needs a total rethink - if we try again with a three man ‘midfield’ that includes Amdouni then we will get taken apart, again. Berge to play as a narrow right sided midfielder who can drift into the middle. Cork to start and Massengo to be on the bench to replace him when he inevitably tires/is looking like he might get his second booking. O’Shea is a disaster currently at centre back, he played alright in one of the friendlies at right back and at least it gives us more height overall across the back line.

Re: Bournemouth next week
I’m convinced that the manager wanted to set up as the conventional in one image and then move the full back inside leaving three actual centre backs in there .
Al-Dakhil operated from right full back in pre-season with O’Shea in the centre which was the opposite way round to what I thought he would do given that O’Shea had been used at right back during his time at WBA.
When we didn’t managed to lure Maatsen here I think the plans have gone out the window as Taylor simply isn’t the same animal in there .
I also still feel that the signing of Delcroix was indeed for the same purpose in order to use him at left full back and let him shuffle across to make a 3 when Roberts inverted.
We currently don’t look like we have much identity and we are trying to use Berge in a position that he is not comfortable in. Berge should be the advanced of a midfield 3 and rotated with Ramsey in the same role when he becomes tired .
There’s an awful lot of ifs and buts , the keeper scenarios being one of them. Sides have already sudsed out that if they press us high we inevitably fail in our efforts. It needs a tweak to combat the high press otherwise we will continue to get a battering of our own making . Go more direct at times , it’s not as if we don’t have the pace to go in behind. ,
Foster , Koleosho, Amdouni, Odobert, Zaroury and Larsen none of whom are any slouch . Larsen makes intelligent runs and I think deserves a chance to start at the weekend .
Let’s hope for some positivity Saturday.

Re: Bournemouth next week
Muric
O'shea, Al-Dakhil, Delcroix, Taylor
Cullen, Cork
Redmond, Berge, Zaroury
Foster
Koleosho for Zaroury if tiring/65 mins
Amdouni for Berge at 65
Bruun Larsen for Redmond at 65
Brownhill for Cork at 65
Gets us experience on the pitch along with players who know the system. Then we can freshen up in the second half if needed. The defence picks itself unfortunately. Berge in the role in which we have won all our points so far.
I'm going to this so I'm hoping for a reaction. Well....more like praying for one.

Based on the defence I presume? Unfortunately it's any 4 from 5/6 at the moment and all look iffy. Apart from that I'd go with the forward choices.
I'd have Berge for Brownhill as he's shown when in AM that he can make a difference..as at Luton and Forest.

There were plenty of reports from reliable reporters at the time of the transfer that the figure was around 6/7 mill....then all the add ons to take it to 19 if all goals are met. Other posters have obviously seen the same reports as that's the figure quoted by several of them.
None of us will know the exact amount, but what I can say is that we haven't " spent " ...19 mill, which is what many are using to back up their arguments

It’s become obvious though that O’Shea, aad and Delcroix really need Beyer (or ekdal probably) alongside them.
Uncanny how injuries tend to whallop your weak spot.

He’s been very unlucky as whenever he’s played he’s usually scored and looked the part ( especially this pure season against Benfica).
AAD seems to be preferred to him also this season.
He’s only played in the cup this season like he’s a second string player. Both he and Muric should be in the first team not the cup team. VK has that arse backwards.
