Some clubs do spend a long time in the championship, moving neither up nor down, Birmingham being the current longest unbroken run as members with 12-13yrs, whilst Cardiff have the most championship seasons overall
I’m quite sure you’re only looking at the second tier since the change to its current name?

It got me wondering about the second tier in general. I think overall that Cardiff have 50 seasons and Birmingham 59. Though Barnsley have 78 seasons and, remarkably, only 1 season in the top flight. I don’t know for a fact, but I would imagine 78 seasons will be the highest? Hull and Leicester have 62 seasons in the second tier.

Tuned into Sky Docs at 19pm and no Burnley!!! Bloody Paul Gascoigne!

What has happened to it? Did they change the time?

When is the repeat?

All info welcomed.

Thanks

Grrr!

After lots of searching....9pm this week!!! That clashed with the athletics.

The good news is that it shows on Sky Showcase at 10.45.

So 5 .ins to wait!

Lots of unnecessary swearing by VK in episode 3. Didn't sound quite right, coming out of his articulate mouth.

Got to say that I found it a bit dull. It was entertaining as a season recap but additional insight and interesting revelations were pretty minimal.

Part of the problem was obviously the lack of jeopardy but it also felt very curated. Less fly on the wall, more promotional video.

I think lessons were learned from the Sunderland one.

Totally agree with that, was very much a promotional effort.

Saw the last episode and on reflection, there wasn't much in it all, other than I found Vincent Kompany swearing, very strange!

It was obvious that it didn't come easily to him. He is far too articulate. The last pump the team up moments all had eff in every sentence. Sounded totally false. Didn't motivate me!

It worked for the players....which is all that matters really

That's what I was thinking of. That was actually interesting with a lot of unexpected (albeit not necessarily positive) insight.

Something I hope he will realise during his career as a coach. No need for that to bring your point across.

It's interesting that viewers of the series who have absolutely no affiliation to the club seem to have really enjoyed it with largely positive reviews

I think most have had positive views, Burnley fans or not

There is a group of people however who look for the smallest thing to be able to have a go at the club, or it's owners

Not so sure it was the swearing that added anything. More his own presence and focus.

There are many, many highly qualified, successful managers now and in the past who swear far more in the dressing room than Vinny did. Are you saying that those league, cup, European and world cup winners just do it for their own pleasure, and it has no impact whatsoever on the players?

Have a look at clips of sir Alex, or the city documentary and listen to Pep, someone who Kompany says is the best manager he's ever worked with.

What I am saying is that the swear words were superfluous and out of place with his direct, concise messages at all other times. That's all.

Finally came to the USA. I've enjoyed it. Didn't think the LDS angle was too much, but it's clearly a very religious family. Understand it's basically good propaganda from the owners, but they seem genuine in their desires for the club.

I liked the way they handled the transfer embargo, thought they seemed much less worried then many on here. I think they did try to explain it to us, but a lot of folks were understandably skeptical that the press releases were just words.

It seemed clear to me that VK and AP both intend this partnership to be a long term project.

Of course everything could have changed this year if we had eyes behind the scenes. Anyway, took a long time to get here, but liked it.

The section on the embargo was completely stage managed - they knew what was happening and why, they had been in discussions about it for some time - according to their own press release
