Living up to the footballer stereotype. He's just scored zero points on his chosen specialised subject on celebrity mastermind.
I guess he shouldn't have gone for something so high brow.... The Spider-Man movies!

Dana failed to score as well.
I scored four on her round, UK hit singles 1969-1975.

Did he get a trophy or a medal or some other recognition for just being there?
He’s had months of notice to research and revise ONE subject. He got none….
He’s had years of notice to pay attention to what’s going on in the world…. He got four or five….
Fidels right….

Done very well then given he’s in the Forest Green dugout tonight for the first time as their new manager

Oh, I'm sure he knows a bit about football.
Didn't Jimmy Mullen manage him at Walsall?

You wouldn't think someone like Deeney would be so desperate to appear on TV that he goes on a "clever" programme to show he's not clever. Fair enough if he had never been on telly and wanted a moment of fame, but why would a celebrity do it?

If they come across as entertaining then they get asked to go on all sorts of other celebrity ******** as a result. Nice gravy train. At least we know who he is.

Earlier in the day David James and Pat Nevin were on another quiz programme called Bridge of Lies. They were both very impressive!

Only two quiz shows worth donating any time to… university challenge, and mastermind. The others are more about yapping about pointless and irrelevant things than testing your knowledge.
Having said that, I’m a fan of Richard Osman, so I don’t mind if his House of Games is on in the background….

Agree with that. Though I do enjoy Only Connect. Only thing is I don't get many!!! Who coined Only Connect? A famous writer.

Been sacked after 29 days
Was it down to the just 3 points he’s won or criticism of his players?

Listening to his interviews and podcasts, Deeney always comes across as brutally honest and says things as he sees them… not always the best approach to managerial roles.

Just goes to show why managers have to try and keep their composer in the interviews. Having a total meltdown in public isn't a good look.

Doesn't help him being a throughly obnoxious human being slagging your players off in public ain't ever going to work, maybe he will devote more time to his specialist subject now and try to get a point next time he's on Mastermind

At least he has plenty of fire in his belly. If he was a few years younger he could do a job for us and give a few of our players who need it a good kick up the @rse.

He's always struck me as someone with a rather higher opinion of his own abilities than his stats would suggest is merited and no qualms about sharing that opinion whether it's asked for or not.
No matter what system we were playing I wouldn't have him given.
