It's either predictable, or uninspiring, or if he makes changes he doesn't know his best 11.
Either that or he’s getting the most out of them,

Re: Match thread - Fulham v Burnley
Agree with others we will likely be overrun in midfield. They play a 4-2-3-1/4-5-1, so I think it's going to be a long haul for Brownhill and Berge particularly if Amdouni, Bruun Larsen and Odobert aren't disciplined.
On the upside we have a bit more pace up front but looking at their midfield it's going to be challenging for the midfield two to get a grip on the game.
Maybe if you had Gundogan and De Bruyne as your midfield two I would be a bit more optimistic.
There is lots of pace and energy up front so who knows it may work.

To be fair Reacher books are not a bundle of laughs either. The only difference is he generally wins at the end of it.CnBtruntru wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 2:45 pmAye, makes me depressed reading this thread, so me thinks i'll go read a Reacher book![]()

No need to apologise either for being optimistic or pessimistic. Likelihood is that we are on our way down with a without a whimper but the football supporter in us wants to see our team go on a run that will take us to world domination. Hey it's what we live for.

Re: Match thread - Fulham v Burnley
I've said it a few times this season but I think if we adopted more of the classic Klopp and less of the Guardiola we'd have a better chance of joy. Amdouni as a mobile false 9 ala Firminio or Coutinho, Foster and Brun Larsen as wide forwards overlapping him to be the primary goal threats like Salah & Mane, move either Cullen into CM in an anchor role ala Fabinho with Brownhill as the Henderson, Berge as the Wjinaldum, or Berge in the anchor role and Gudmundsson as the playmaker CM.jojomk1 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 2:36 pmSpot on
Central midfield will struggle and Amdouni will roam off in areas achieving very little
I actually like Amdouni as a player but this central midfield is just not strong enough as a two
Would rather see Cullen as a third cm hoping the two wide men can support Foster
Puts our two fastest, most direct goal threats on the pitch in a system letting them serve as main goal threats, puts Amdouni in a role that should suit him (even if hes more a classic trequartista) and adds a body in the centre to prevent overrun. Plus forces us to be a bit more urgent with our passing rather than aimless meandering in our own half for 60 minutes a game.

Amdouni as good as Firminospt_claret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 2:49 pmI've said it a few times this season but I think if we adopted more of the classic Klopp and less of the Guardiola we'd have a better chance of joy. Foster and Larsen like Salah and Mane
Cullen/Fabinho, Brownhill/Henderson, Berge/Wijnaldum
Why are we bottom of the league with such good players

Good to see Foster starting. Would like to have seen Redmond or Tresor instead of Odobert or JBL though.
Not sure defence can change much - other than Ekdal .
I've given up o Muric starting

Trafford looks further out than he normally is. Bit more of the old Muric role.

This is such deliberate misrepresentation, at what point did I say they were "as good"? Never.
I was referring to systems, player attributes, and similarities in style that might benefit us from adopting that system with our players in those roles.
Unbelievably disingenous of you.

Wish we’d counter with pace more once winning the ball in the middle
Vitinho and Berge started well

Re: Match thread - Fulham v Burnley
Great attacking and then we pass it all the way back to Trafford. Waste of opportunity

Re: Match thread - Fulham v Burnley
He really does. And as I've been saying he would, Amdouni looks so much more likely to find space or link the ball in dangerous areas with someone actually mobile next to him. Larsen able to get in behind or in dangerzones more too.

Two good saves from Trafford in quick succession and then they hit the side netting too. All in about a minute of play. We’re far too open when we’re run at.

Sometimes you just need to put your foot through it.
