I think I could handle struggling in the Prem if we were attacking sides, having lots of shots and creating chances but we don't. I just don't get what we are trying to do.spt_claret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 3:39 pmBut allegedly we're an attacking side.
Keep saying it we're not, we're a defensive side whose defensive philosophy is "have lots of possession because we can't actually defend". Even if that's not the theory that's the practice.

Apparently Phil Bird mentioned Tella is there watching the game today with Alan Pace...

Re: Match thread - Fulham v Burnley
Typical of the season - playing quite well, aspiring to be a dynamic team, but other sides are better at that than we are, and are better at the back too.
Fulham look quick, skilful and aggressive. Been impressed with them.
For us we need more skill - Odobert done zero, I’d bring Tresor on and soon after Redmond.

Re: Match thread - Fulham v Burnley
It a move to try and either keep Robinson back or use Odobert pace to track I suspect given it came straight after Larson couldn’t keep up with Robinson forward run
Robinson has Larsson for fun.

More passion and guile needed. Our wingers have been so poor and we're just letting them get further and further forward.

We had about 14 shots last week.

Traff 68% pass accuracy.
Re: Match thread - Fulham v Burnley
What have we done in that first half to a) exploit Fulham's weaknesses and b) defend against their strengths?
Every game is copy and paste.
I don't know what we're trying to do. We don't attack with any pace or precision, we don't counter attack, we certainly don't use set pieces, we aren't gung-ho, we don't go direct, we don't use the wings, and we don't keep the ball well enough to be a possession based side.
Just what are we? What do we do?
I don't mind losing, I don't mind going down.
But not with this feeble, wishy-washy, cul-de-sac limbo-land sort of football.

Normally you’d be hopeful that changes would make a difference but the level of desire needed is not there

Pretty good considering
Re: Match thread - Fulham v Burnley
Wait until full time all the happy clappers who haven’t watched the game will be saying how good we were ,we’re like a lower league team trying to put on a decent show against a Premier league team.

Let's have it right we've been bloody appalling yet again 1st half, if we get a 0-0 which I can't see I'll be amazed

We have made a change Tresor on for JBL.
Re: Match thread - Fulham v Burnley
At least Vinny has seen how off the pace Larsen was.
Re: Match thread - Fulham v Burnley
I’d have Cullen and Redmond on too, mind.

I imagine most were the very short passes and as such it seems like his long passing isn't hitting our boys.

Re: Match thread - Fulham v Burnley
Nonsensical, not one of the saves he's made is one you wouldn't expect him to make.
Tresor on for Larsen. Would probably have swapped Odobert personally but Larsens been poor after the opening 10 so can't complain.
EDIT: Understand why we left him on now! Get in!
