Re: Who are we catching?
What has been very annoying of late, is the improvement of teams who would normally sit in the bottom third of the PL , who you would hope earned less points than us over 38 games. Notably Wolves, Everton, Bournemouth, more recently Forest. Palace another of these teams looked good yesterday v Brentford and seem to pick up points despite their squad strength. Its looking unlikely that the current three bottom clubs can pull themselves out of relegation, as its not probable we will see a free fall from any of the clubs above. Brentford are a possibilty as defensively they look vulnerable but they soon see the return of Ivan Toney.
Re: Who are we catching?
Can see Brentford only picking up 3 points in their next 7 games,I reckon we’ve a reasonable chance of 10 then the next game is them on the Turf, could be out of the bottom 3 by 16th March.

Re: Who are we catching?
If VK remains a bit more pragmatic like the last few games I don’t see any reason why we can’t start picking up some home wins.

Re: Who are we catching?
I am an optimist, and for the sake of our team, and because that is what football is all about, I hope we get enough results to stay up.
But I hate the Premier League and all that it is. I want (and don't want - at the same time) for us us to be in it next season but I don't think we will!
However I am really optimistic about another season in the Championship.
When we went down last time, and whilst all was doom and gloom and people were saying we were going to plummet through the divisions on our way to non league mediocrity, I just didn't feel that way.
When Vinny came in I felt we would take a season to adjust. We didn't.
I feel that we will be in a much stronger mind set with a group of established player (unlike last time) and play attacking football (like last time) will be fantastic.
I'm almost resigned to it but happy with it.

We got 7 from our last 7Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 4:24 pmWon 11 all season but we are going to get 10 from the next 7?
And could have got more
It's a bit optimistic. But not ridiculous
Re: Who are we catching?
If we go back down and have another season like last it would certainly ease the pain of relegation,I haven’t seen the top 3 play in the championship this season but have watched the nobodies down the road on tv and the matches have been dreadful, but if we do go down I hope it’s near the end of the season so the players are still fighting and not going through the motions, and VK will have a rough idea what the team will be in the Championship.Guller Bull wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 5:16 pmI am an optimist, and for the sake of our team, and because that is what football is all about, I hope we get enough results to stay up.
