I like Vitinho, he's more in the mould of the type of full back this team needs, but he's very chaotic on the ball. But generally I'd be happy for him to stay and continue improving/back someone else up.Anthonini wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 7:09 pmTrue though I do appreciate Vitinho's work ethic and he seems to have the engine to keep going. Offensively he's also progressing though his crosses still are far away from what it should be. Do like how he overlaps and participates in play.
Delcroix is better than what we've seen so far. He's still feeling the pressure of playing at a world stage against actual top players. You can see he's struggling a bit. When he played at Anderlecht he's been man of the match alot of times and he is usually very comfortable on the ball. Still hope he can step it up a notch and forget about the stress. Just play his game.
I do agree if you just know him since his Burnley move he's been very poor. I feel for the lad. Also think his knee injury is/was still bothering him. He looks slow which is unusual for him.
But in all fairness Beyer has also looked dodgy at times... Now Delcroix can get a few games to prove himself a useful member of the squad.
The thing with Delcroix is we just can't keep everyone and the only thing Taylor has done wrong (imo) is not be a great fit for this system.
Admittedly we could go down the route of getting rid of Taylor instead of Delcroix, Brownhill and Roberts but we'd be losing a lot of the little experience we had left.
Beyer and O'Shea both look like they could do with an experienced head alongside them imo.
