The War Below on Netflix.

Set during WW1 and based on the true story of the British missions to tunnel under 'no mans land' and plant explosives beneath the German troops.

On ITVX there is a new series streaming - Under the Banner of Heaven. It stars Andrew Garfield and Gil Bermingham as 2 detectives investigating the brutal murder of a young mother and her infant daughter with connections to Mormonism. It is based on a true story. I found it shocking. Garfield was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe award for his portrayal of a detective of the Mormon faith.

I'd hardly seen any Only fools and horses until I started going on the supporters coaches to games years ago - I think I've seen them all multiple times now :D

Breaking Bad - unmissable TV imho, one of the best things I've ever seen
Better call Saul too........just a continuation really, but just as good.

It’s not on Netflix or Prime so sorry for not being helpful, but last night I watched a French film called Anatomy of a Fall, which was absolutely superb.
I liked it too, but found it a bit long winded at the theatre. 2hrs 45 mins i think.

Kin is decent for an incredibly low budget ( 1st season ) bbc effort .
“Tell them you love me “on Sky docu is a quite disturbing watch, especially in the last quarter when you suddenly realise what has been happening.
The Americans -6? I think seasons is a good watch , sure it’s complete hokum but follows a nice “ real events “ historical flow

Off topic from Netflix/Prime title but tv show related. I recently signed up to Britbox and watched all 6 series of "line of duty". I though series 1-4 were brilliant but series 5 and 6 were merely more of the same. I'm curious to know what you folks you saw the show thought of it.

Just finished Love/Hate on the Itv app.

Very good. Some very good characters in it.

Storylines held up through to the end of series 5, which not many do.

Just binge watched The Kominsky Method starring Alan Arkin & Michael Douglas....funny...sad... thought provoking and brilliantly acted, recommended for the 60/70 year olds on here, the prostate examination scene with Douglas & Danny Devito as his doctor was comedy gold.

Just watched the first 3 episodes of Fallout on Prime. Very good show so far although not surprising I love it as I love the Playstation game.

Not just a show for gamers, the Mrs is also enjoying it so far.

Baby Reindeer on Netflix a true story I can't believe the lead actor endured so much shite in his life, the scene where he's reconciled with his Dad was great telly

Sneaky Pete on Prime.

One or two Clarets have praised this and rightfully so.

I started watching the first season three years ago. Yes. I'm very hard to please.

Resumed watching it this month and now finished.

It's a comedy/thriller. Never easy to juggle with those two genres. It's more comedy than a thriller.

The series is about a loveable conman who obtains interesting info from a fellow prisoner just before being released on parole.

He steals the prisoner's identity and gets involved with a dysfunctional family.

What appeals to me the most is the series is comforting as in many of the characters are engaging. It doesn't take itself seriously. File under "slow burn", don't expect anything sensational but you might like it.

Just seen that The Shield has appeared on UKTV play. Its a drama about a police department in LA. I'd put it up there with things like The Sopranos, Breaking Bad etc as one of the best things i've ever watched but hardly anybody has even heard of it!

Really enjoying this! It’s rarely considered the impact that crimes like that have on the people investigating, must send them west sometimes, good to hear it from their POV.

Just finished Kleo which is a stylish thriller about a former Stasi assassin.

Has shades of the also excellent Deutschland 83 series about it.

Just make sure you watch it with the original German sh and English subtitles, because the dubbing is horrendous
Series 2 starts tomorrow on Netflix - looking forward to this

Agree with Presumed Innocent! Last episode just come out yesterday for season 1. Same story as the Harrison Ford movie in the 90s but haven't seen the movie to know if it's the same ending.

The books by Mick Herron are equally as brilliant.

Freddie Flintoff’s, Field of Dreams has been a decent bit of Tele as well.

Agree with this. Bought the dvd box-set back at the time when it was first on and have lent it to a few people over the years . Vic Mackie is a brilliant anti-hero and it’s possibly my favourite TV series ever.
Currently watching Subarro: Blood on Rome on Netflix… Italian gangster/crine/corruption drama a bit like Gomorrrah . Great stuff.

Others may well not share my opinion but I'm staggered about how poor a lot of Prime's own films are. I mean, if you can't put forward a decent budget, then don't bother. There ARE exceptions but not many.

Thoroughly enjoyed Wyatt Earp and the Ciwboy War on Netflix. Documentary with some scenes dramatised. Supposedly what actually happened and why although I thought they overstated the overall political implications and the interest of J P Morgan. Great if you love westerns. Interesting to compare it to the films ‘Tombstone’ and ‘Wyatt Earp’ from the 90s.

Not sure whether already mentioned but recently finished watching Fauda on Netflix. This is one of the best series I’ve ever seen, about an Israeli security squad operating in Palestine. There are 4 series, 12 episodes a series, and the closing scene of the last episode is just magnificent.
Supposed to be another series in production but not sure about the practicalities of that given the current situation.

Really enjoying Slow Horses series 4 (as I did with the first 3

also we have a return of the excellent - The Old Man with the first two episodes of series 2 having now dropped, with Jeff Bridges

there really is some good tv out there - if you know how to avoid the paywalls

A BBC series. Just become available here in France (first series).

"Blue Lights": about policing in today's Belfast. Excellent series which for someone brought up through the whole Troubles period is really instructive as well as being very well written, directed with first-class acting.
