Why do really rubbish films exist?

Post by distortiondave » Sat Apr 13, 2024 9:00 pm

It must cost millions to make a movie, so what's in it for the creators of TRANSMUTATORS.

Or, Sharknado and it's innumerable sequels;

or 5 headed shark attack

Or Jurassic Galaxy;

Who is paying for these, who is watching these and why do they exist?!

I will not hear a word said against the masterpiece of modern cinema that is the Sharknado franchise.

Why? Same as ugly people. They make others look better.

There some bad movies out there that cost nothing to make, but audiences like them for that reason, meanwhile there are really expensive movies that are even worse, like the most recent Indiana Jones movie.

Then there those bad movies in the middle that general commoners like - such as Bank of Dave

Because there's an audience for them, they cost relatively little to make and they make money. "The Asylum" are behind most of those you mentioned, I think the first Sharknado film
tripled their yearly profits from somewhere in the region of $5 million to closer to $20 million if I remember correctly from an article I read.

A lot of these crap films are horror films because they cost little to make and can make an absolute fortune if they become cult hits

Blair witch project cost way less than 1 million and made nearly 250 million

Saw cost 1 million and made over 100m, and god knows how much since

There’s loads of examples of this
