Sheff Utd v Forest

Post by Claretmutt » Sun Apr 28, 2024 6:55 pm

How would you rate the chances of Sheff Utd
Beating Forest now that they’ve nothing at
stake to play for.

Sheffield United have a couple more injuries since they played us, their squad is severely depleted.

McBurnie is out for the season and McAtee is also out, they aren't going to risk players who aren't 100% now, what's the point?

I think they'll create chances but they just can't defend, the key to them getting a positive result is scoring first.

Big pressure on Forest to win. Don't think its the foregone conclusion some on here seem to.

You would want to beat 4th bottom at home.

Any of the results wouldn't be a shock

Id be happy with draws all round for us, Luton and Forest next week as there's a decent chance we all lose game 37 leaving us needing a win and Luton to draw or lose for us to survive.

Think if we can match them both next weekend we have a real shout of staying up

Wilder already stated in yesterday's interview plenty won't be there next season - on the beach job from now on - 3 nil Forest

They come out and give it a do.

Could have been 3 up before we scored. They seem to score most games, just need their keeper to have a decent day

There was a lot of talk a few months ago about Burnley being one of the worst sides in PL history. For Sheffield United it’s a genuine likelihood.

Barring a miracle they look like they’ll surpass Swindon’s record for the most goals conceded in the PL era and possibly have one of the worst points totals.

You’d like to think that’ll provide some motivation to a professional organisation, but effort and intent might be enough to bridge the clear quality gap.

I don't see Wilder as the type to deliberately accept a poor performance.

Another thing to consider is would Sheffield united prefer us or nottingham or luton in the championship alongside them. It's not a east Midlands derby as such like county would be but geographically there's only 30 odd miles between the 2 & some supporters will overlap between the counties whether that's an incentive remains to be seen.

Sheffield owe their fans a good performance, I think though Forest will be just to good for them.

Gibbs-White makes their forward line tick, he is far and away their best player.

Just cannot see anything other than a Forest win.

Sheffield’s confidence is shot, loads of key injuries, they’ve nothing to play for and Forest are much stronger even with their injuries today - with everything to play for.

Hope I’m really, really wrong.

Let’s have a look at the form book.

In the last eleven games the Blades have drawn three, lost eight and conceded 37 goals including 13 in their last three outings.

The only glimmer is the draws were against decent sides like Chelsea Bournemouth and Fulham.

Blades could only win out of spite now. Here's hoping for a bit of that

It may depend on Chris Wood's wastefulness.

On the other hand, Forest haven’t been pulling any trees up. In that same eleven game spell they have won only one and struggled to score goals, netting only seven.

Strangely they have beaten Chelsea, Villa,Man United and Newcastle but not many others. They did also beat the Blades at home in the second game of the season.

How funny would it be if Notts Forest lost because of a couple of dodgy VAR calls

Only prayer can help Sheffield.

Have to assume Forest will win, we just need to beat Newcastle and nothing changes. Then we beat Spurs, then Forest and let's see where we end up.

Sheffield United have conceded 35 goals in the last 9 home games, and that includes 3 v Luton and 4 v us. They are appalling. I reckon we need a win against Newcastle.

I have a feeling Sheff Utd might get something. Just relegated teams often get weird results, once the pressure's off.

I fancy Forest to beat Chelsea at home the week after though.

Have these two teams still got some beef from the play offs the other year?

When one of the Forest fans got 6 months for headbutting Billy Sharp in the pitch invasion?

Can’t see Everton or Sheff U breaking into a sweat. Forest looked good v City and should win comfortably at BL. Luton are struggling to find a win bu Everton will be there best chance. Don’t see us beating Newcastle but maybe our momentum will keep our run going.
