Didn't Assignon give the ball away for the third goal?

Up there with the most embarrassing performances we have seen this season and that is saying something. Complete shambles from top to bottom and I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over any of them being sold off now, except maybe Muric. Total crap.

Did Esteve go off for being "winded" too the tart, if he has and that's his level of commitment to the cause that should be that for him imo!

Re: Match thread. Burnley Vs Newcastle
Foster is clearly unfit. Newcastle could have scored as many as they wanted today. Kompany is totally naive as would a manager who plays Vitinho at LB. Howe simply loaded in on him and stopped Assignon who was our only attacking threat.

I feel like I've been watching this match for about a week, just checked my watch and there's 10 minutes plus injury time left ffs

it's been dire.
Re: Match thread. Burnley Vs Newcastle
Foster has been useless, not just today.
Vitinho at left back is still completely and utterly baffling.
My two takes from today, and I know it's not just those two - but they've been constants all season.

One slight plus, yep I know, is Ekdal coming on. At least he has an idea of how to defend and smell danger!

Kompany has had two full years to put together this team. It's not progressing in the way I'd hoped.

Benson not getting a sniff in this team is laughable at best and criminal at worst.

To go out and "defend" the way we did today is unforgivable.

VK seriously has to be considering his future. Barely any of this squad mainly bought by Kompany and Pace are good enough and those that are are usually not played to their strengths. The Manager has single handedly caused our relegation by his signings and his stubbornness We have got what we deserved.

Some job we have in the summer trimming and refocussing this squad. I don't think I'd be disappointed in any of them leaving aside from Berge tbh.
Re: Match thread. Burnley Vs Newcastle
Get out of the club Kompany

I have never ever in the 35 years of going on the turf left as early as today (33mins) and like most I’ve seen some absolute dross. The capitulation hit a new low for me today, that was utterly utterly abysmal after going behind.

Re: Match thread. Burnley Vs Newcastle
Name me a manager who at 3-0 down come half time, having been absolutely atrocious, in practically a must win game, who then decides not to change a thing because he must clearly believe the team currently getting blown away can actually turn things round?? Anyone???

Re: Match thread. Burnley Vs Newcastle
We were really good for the first 20 minutes, and then pretty tragic after we conceded.
Bruun Larsen was dreadful. Offered nothing going forwards and no help at all defensively.
Brownhill shouldn’t be starting in the Premier League, let alone captain. He’s the epitome of a headless chicken at this level.

Re: Match thread. Burnley Vs Newcastle
One thing that really struck me today - after a very bright start Newcastle made a change to press high and stop our midfield from getting on the ball resulting in us being able to get out of our half. We’re getting totally overwhelmed and the players don’t have a clue what to do, Esteve goes down injured and requires treatment. If I’m Kompany I’m 100% calling the players over to the sidelines to get some instructions across on how to put a stop to it. Players just wandering around the pitch having their own discussions until eventually they jog over in dribs and drabs for a chat.
Where is the leadership there. Where is the tactical knowledge to adapt to the challenge playing out on the pitch? We’ve been naive for most of the season but today there was absolutely no reaction from the bench. It’s easy to criticise the players but they were hung out to dry today. It was quite telling when we conceded the third and Assignon looked over to Kompany to suggest he was doing as he’d been told by dribbling out of tight positions, for Kompany to react by gesturing that Assignon should have cleared the ball.

Re: Match thread. Burnley Vs Newcastle
I’m not surprised that Dyche wasn’t prepared to buy into how the Chairman wanted the Club to move forward. He (Dyche) must be quietly laughing at us.
Re: Match thread. Burnley Vs Newcastle
Agreed! I don’t and won’t follow Kompany on this ridiculous ego trip he’s taking us on. I am a FAN of the club, not a blind follower.
The pundits are calling for his head tonight and rightly so! Big Chris particularly scathing! Jamie O’H and Gabby A (inbetween laughing at Birmingham) have laid into him.
I hope he goes before the start of the window. Let him get back on TV at the euros and explain this shambles away.

Eddie Howe got his game plan spot on, playing 2 up top stopped us to play out like we usually do and we resorted to kicking long to foster who Burn dominated
