Must not be confident in our ability though, as he included 2 Newcastle players in his team this weekend....

Ekdal
Just noticed on what appears to be on his fantasy premier league team that he is doing rather well. Currently sat 9th in the Burnley league.

Re: Ekdal
Pretty tricky for a PL player to pick a team and not include anyone from teams he'll play against.
I'm sure some nutter started a thread before worried about fantasy league and match fixing.

Re: Ekdal
Ekdal is Swedish and so is isak so I don’t think it’s that strange for him to pick an international team mate in a fantasy team

Re: Ekdal
This board
Surely this would be a better interpretation?
Hjalmar is currently about 2,000th out of about 10 million in Fantasy League, which shows a rare thing, a very intelligent footballer. To be applauded. He correctly, in recent games, had in his side Gordon and Isak, scoring for fun. Last weekend he also correctly, given that he only gets 1 free transfer, brought in Haaland, who got 4 goals. He thus had to keep the two Newcastle players in his side for when they played us, including his international teammate, who by the way, is chit hot. He still did his best to stop them scoring of course. He is winning the Clarets league by some distance.
Sounds fantastic. Great guy. Clever. Committed on the pitch. Always seems to play well. We are lucky to have him, and personally I would like him to stay for many more seasons, UTC

Re: Ekdal
I am in no way suggesting match fixing to win fantasy PL
Just pointing out that he fancies the opposition to score goals against the team he is supposed to be in defence for.
Mateta is in even better form than Isak but on his bench. He fancied Isak to score more than Mateta against his own team.

I fancied Wilson, Isaak, Gordon to score against us because we are abject.Poulton-le-Claret wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 4:39 pmI am in no way suggesting match fixing to win fantasy PLJust pointing out that he fancies the opposition to score goals against the team he is supposed to be in defence for.

I agree, I had Gordon and Isak myself, but luckily I don't play for Burnley or we would be even worseVegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 4:53 pmI fancied Wilson, Isaak, Gordon to score against us because we are abject.

I hear he's put a bounty on Muric’s head for saving Isak's penalty.

Re: Ekdal
I reckon he wanted us to lose yesterday so his fantasy league team got lots of points.
Reckon the warm feeling he’d get inside from that would far outweigh his win or clean sheet bonus.

I just find it a bit odd a PL player would bother having a fantasy team.

Yep, an extra 10 fantasy league points has got to be worth more than a few grand in bonuses.agreenwood wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 5:10 pmI reckon he wanted us to lose yesterday so his fantasy league team got lots of points.

Jeez
Only on here can anything be as so construed as to whether a player is not committed to BFC

Re: Ekdal
Personally, I would absolutely never suggest that is the case. Just that it may indicate a lack of belief that we would get a result from one of our players.agreenwood wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 5:10 pmI reckon he wanted us to lose yesterday so his fantasy league team got lots of points.
