Ok, so it looks like he’s losing but I can’t imagine Lewis Dunk or Harry Maguire performing to the level of Eric Dier tonight. Sure Gareth knows what’s best though.

Tuchels fault, they were breaking on Madrid for fun and he went defensive and conceded twice

Re: RM v Bayern
He wasn't offside at the specific moment the ball was played to him.
He most definitely gained an advantage from being in an offside position prior to that.
The law is a mess. The defenders knew he was there and left him to it.

Half a yard at best, but onside nonetheless.

Re: RM v Bayern
That offside decision at the end was a tight one. Very strange that the lino flagged that.

How can you not enjoy watching Madrid in the CL. Love them or hate them, it is always entertaining.

Re: RM v Bayern
Very strange indeed. A VAR check could have sent that either way - these are exactly the incidents the linos are told NOT to flag.

Yes and for that reason it always surprises me that fans go mad when they don’t flag the tighter ones.dougcollins wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 10:05 pmVery strange indeed. A VAR check could have sent that either way - these are exactly the incidents the linos are told NOT to flag.

Re: RM v Bayern
The way that lino flagged was very strange, almost as if he was making sure RM won. Disturbing TBH but totally in keeping with what we have seen in the Prem this season with VAR.

Re: RM v Bayern
If Burnley were in the position Bayern were after 87 minutes and the events had unfolded like they did, then I'm pretty sure my TV would have been in the garden in several pieces at 10pm last night.

Re: RM v Bayern
Considering he's obviously "at the too of his game" the lino makes a total mess of the Bayern "goal" right at the death. The player he flags offside doesn't touch the ball and anyway he should surely have waited because that's one of those occasions which the current directive was brought in for, not the nonsense we see at the Turf every week where players are allowed to play on down by the corner flag for 5 minutes before the flag goes up. Bayern done over there, but having said that, they really shouldn't be losing the game when leading with 2 minutes left.

Re: RM v Bayern
I think it’s not just that the linesman flagged, but that the referee was so eager to blow his whistle immediately rather than using his discretion and waiting until the play unfolded.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 9:39 amConsidering he's obviously "at the too of his game" the lino makes a total mess of the Bayern "goal" right at the death. Re: RM v Bayern
Whether it's a goal or not according to whatever today's rules are, it's way too complicated.
FWIW Joselu was miles offside by the old rules and those I think I understood. But not at all sure.
