Very strange indeed. A VAR check could have sent that either way - these are exactly the incidents the linos are told NOT to flag.

The way that lino flagged was very strange, almost as if he was making sure RM won. Disturbing TBH but totally in keeping with what we have seen in the Prem this season with VAR.

The player he flags offside doesn't touch the ball and anyway he should surely have waited because that's one of those occasions which the current directive was brought in for, not the nonsense we see at the Turf every week where players are allowed to play on down by the corner flag for 5 minutes before the flag goes up. Bayern done over there, but having said that, they really shouldn't be losing the game when leading with 2 minutes left.

I think it’s not just that the linesman flagged, but that the referee was so eager to blow his whistle immediately rather than using his discretion and waiting until the play unfolded.

FWIW Joselu was miles offside by the old rules and those I think I understood. But not at all sure.
