Bentancur literally head butted Muric in the chest as we were lining up for that free kick. Despise this league. If you’re a small team everything is overlooked. We weren’t good enough but we’ve had A LOT of decision go against us all season.

And that's that, thank f*CK this absolute sh!tshow is over. A clusterf*CK from top to bottom, from before a ball was kicked until our prolonged demise
There's a number at the top of this sh!t sandwich who need to take a long hard look at themselves because the most part of this season hasn't been remotely acceptable and more worryingly quite a few seem woefully inadequate!!

Been said a million times but the table never lies-its been like a delayed death of a relative for some time now.WE have been an embarrassment to the PL and to a very loyal fan base. Big challenges ahead and I hope the Board do a full appraisal of the season-our recruitment, our style of play, team selection, effectiveness of the coaches (if we can call them that)

Script seemed written for Benson to save us.
I think anyone optimistic we'll walk promotion would do well to have a detailed read of Chester Perry's posts in the finances/takeover thread. A lot of players will be going. It's going to be a battle next season.

I’m just happy we didn’t go out on a whimper. The season was a disaster until about 10 games ago when we actually turned up so holds us in good stead for next season.
I’m looking forward to next season already.

Going to take a huge effort for me to even think about going next Sunday.

At least we didn’t have a season like Sheffield United.
That’s what it looked like being after 25 games of the season

Re: totteringham versus MIGHTY CLARETS
The type of performance we've seen a lot since Arsenal away.
Much more competitive but not able to make the correct decisions in the final third.
We'll never know if playing Muric and Cullen earlier was the deciding factor but with a few exceptions we've given most of the teams a game since November, a slight lack of quality and making schoolboy errors on a consistent basis has been our undoing.
We will be the team people will fear next season.

Re: totteringham versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Four sides nowhere near good enough and one will stay up who don’t deserve to, who also cheated, but we know cheats prosper in this league. The three who go down though, do deserve to.
Galling we would be 2 pts off now if that win vs Forest had stood, that led to the PGMOL letter of apology. Still don’t think they are better than us.
Would love to give our departing players a send off next Sunday, but I can’t face the Forest gloating and will be keeping my seat empty.

Muric's distribution gets worse and worse every game, whatever he's changed he needs to change it back if he's going to be our number 1 next season

Will we lose players the fans want to stay? Yes but there will be ways to cut the wage bill and raise money through sales without destroying the first XI

Glad it’s finally confirmed and to be honest I’ll be glad to see the back of tits like Maddison and Son constantly over reacting and always chirping at the referee. Ultimately we were too young, too naive and physically too weak - VAR hasn’t helped us either but nearly all the fouls our players make get carded whereas the cynical stuff on us gets largely ignored. The sooner the European Super League comes in the better - it’s what the big clubs want and it might make the top league more even. Bring on the Bar Stewards !

The season was done for as soon as the transfer window was closed. A terrible transfer policy followed up with VKs bizarre team selection and tactics.

Re: totteringham versus MIGHTY CLARETS
No real surprise in that in the first 28 games we played home and away matches against all of the top 4. We would have got nothing from those fixtures playing both goalkeepers.

The highest rated teams we have played since have been against Newcastle and Tottenham and lost them both.

Re: totteringham versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Got what we deserved. Unlucky with injuries and refs but huge self inflicted wounds by Kompany made it impossible to survive. Pace and VK need to take a long hard look in the mirror. They won’t like what they see but they won’t care. Burnley means nothing to them. It’s just a cash cow
Re: totteringham versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Of course, the master plan was to make money by not staying in the Prem. So cunning you could stick a tail on it and call it a fox.
Re: totteringham versus MIGHTY CLARETS
The owners were pretty clear that they didn't need to be in the prem for things to work. The fact that they did it early is probably a bonus more than anything. I'm not worried on the ownership front yet

Re: totteringham versus MIGHTY CLARETS
I have been asked the following on the MMT but will answer on herespt_claret wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 5:01 pmScript seemed written for Benson to save us.
I think anyone optimistic we'll walk promotion would do well to have a detailed read of Chester Perry's posts in the finances/takeover thread. A lot of players will be going. It's going to be a battle next season.
It is difficult to say - a lot comes down to available cash, which has been chased constantly under Pace's tenure, the challenges on that front are what I have been posting about recently.
that said we do not know:
- if we will finish the season cash positive on the operational front, that has not happened in the last few years, a lot will depend on how well we have performed on the commercial front, I expect matchday revenues to be around £10m, we simply need a huge improvement on the commercial side, certainly a new record in excess of £15m. Also must be remembered that if we finish above Luton that is another £3.1m in merit money from The Premier League, that is important it could be 4 or 5 months of interest payments on the loan.
- the terms of the MGG loan from amount loaned, interest rate or if relegation means an enforced capital reduction capital reduction. It was as the capital reduction caused by relegation last time round that forced the sale of so many players as much as Vincent Kompany wanting to change the whole situation.
- Which players the club/Kompany wants to keep or which players want to leave, or whose contracts allow them to leave. There is the size of the squad to consider, the worry is that we can only part with the players we would rather keep and not part with the ones we want to move on. Are we going to just put a squad together for promotion mainly comprised of key players on loan again or are we going to keep a core squad that are better prepared for another crack at the Premier League. Kompany's history as a manager suggests he creates a fresh team every season, is that as much a preference as a situation of circumstance?

It’s not anti Burnley at all. It’s anti watching shite football. Brain laws got 35 points . Dyche had more points when he got sacked. See the bigger picture , this season has been atrocious from the signings to the tactics. I want nothing more than to stay in this league but the fact is we are a million miles away from it. To speak your mind seems to get people having sly digs on here. Like some kind of hub for super fans.

Sorry 30 points. More than what we will get this season. That’s the point I’m trying to make. Anyway I’m absolutely sick of football. Roll on the euros for more disappointment. Better not go on England fans forums and get grief for saying what I see eh.

However bad we've been, It's been preferable to the Laws stuff. Christ that was depressing. Turned us from an exciting but naive team into a mind numbingly dull and also crap team within about a week. I still remember vividly the absolute no shows at home.to Pompey, Wolves and Blackburn.
