Indifferent is a good word to describe my feelings too so I’ll go with that. I’m glad we’ve stuck by the manager and identity, despite modern football and narratives suggesting going the opposite way. I’m also looking forward to next season and optimistic for another successful (but I’d bet tougher) season.
Out of interest why do you think tougher?

I’m hoping for a record breaking season

For a start, Luton are way smarter than Norwich & Watford (when we last went down) and will stick with a manager I think will do well in the Champ. I can see them recruiting well and will present a tougher opponent than the last 2 relegated clubs did. Sheff United are an unknown entity and look set for a big rebuild, which could go either way.

Then you’ve got Leeds and/or Saints who might still be there. Both big clubs with decent resources and young squads. I also think the promoted clubs will be stronger than Wigan and Rotherham were last season. The rest is a much of a muchness albeit Hull seem to be showing some ambition.

Relieved we are nearly at the end of a shambolic season. Really can't be bothered coming over for the forest game, but I will out of loyalty to the club. I suspect we get beat and the atmosphere will be completely flat.

Never looked forward to the end of a season as much as this one.

Feel OK about it - it was on the cards for a long time. The small glimmer of hope we had recently was a bonus but a longshot. Just said to the lad we'll at least get some tickets next season and no VAR - ''Get in'' he said.

Positive, enjoyed the championship last season, I believe in Kompany although I think he has made mistakes and hope he has learnt from this season. Season ticket sales look good so there is positive vibes from fans.
Can’t make mistakes in the Premier league and unfortunately we have made too many. Need to learn and grow, be stronger and be ready for promotion as it is a massive leap.

Feeling relatively positive. We’ve got a manager who has got us out the championship with ease before. I don’t think the championship will be any better quality than last season.

We’ll lose a few players (as we did last time round) but the bulk of our squad are easily top end championship standard, some even better.

Keep the faith, it’s not our first rodeo.

Happy to see the back of this season- looking forward to a reset.

Been a tough one to swallow, arguably the best platform we've had to stay up at this level after promotion and given the points deductions etc it's been an opportunity squandered. I hope we get rid of a lot, identify a core squad of players we think can take us forward and then (if we do go up) add quality in a few key areas to enhance the existing squad instead of trying to replace it. The model looked like it worked fine at Championship level, we have to be prepared to develop those players and then add shrewdly. Signing players for 15-20m purely on future potential and possible future fees has been our biggest mistake this season, probably closely followed by team selections for the first 28 games.

We have to finish 1st or 2nd next year, we have the resources, we've spent a fortune across the last 4 windows for a team that will be playing in the Championship. One thing for sure is that Kompany is going to have to change/be willing to change if he wants to achieve long term success here. We're not going to have the best players for the level above, we're going to have to be more pragmatic and use what we have better.

In some ways I hope this is a bit more like the second Dyche promotion- the football was probably worse and we were a bit more pragmatic (admittedly we had lost key players in Ings and Tripps) but the change helped us stay up the following season in the PL. I might be in the minority but the football we play is second to the results for me and always will be. Massive season ahead- deflated now but I'll be buzzing when we start getting linked with players again and the season is looming.

I feel badly let down. This should have been a memorable season but has proved to be something of a shambles on too many occasions, both on the pitch and in the running of the club.

Pretty sanguine tbh. I knew we were down long before Xmas. It was clear that the new look team didn't have enough to stay up. I fully expect us to be right at the top of the championship next year.

Dyche took us up and down before staying up for many years. There are massive differences between the two situations but getting relegated isn't the end of the world, we'll come back stronger for the experience.

Agreed RV-our fans seem to thin its a walk in the park to come straight back. Luton will as you say keep Edwards and probably strengthen. One of Leeds and Saints will be there too, maybe both, and we have some dark horses like Coventry and Hull. One key feature might be will VK have he same fight he showed last time-his pride has taken a major bashing, and can he still attract good players. His wings might even be clipped by the Board

Well happy.

Back to actual football next season, actual competitive sport. The premier league is dead as a competition, dead as a spectacle; the level of cheating that is sctivrly encourage by the authorities both on and off the pitch has really killed it this season. Not even arsed if we don't go straight back up, being in a more competitive league is way better than being in a business market.

Don’t feel anything to be honest. Had a lovely afternoon out with the kids, taking in the great outdoors and didn’t check my phone until around 4:30. I’d like us to finish above Luton and I’m looking forward to winning more games next season without VAR, big club bias and corrupt financial charges.

No emotion at all about relegation. I was resigned to it in November after being at the Turf for the dross that was the Palace & West Ham games.

Glad to be away from VAR, might actually watch games again. I hate everything the Premier League stands for, cheating, cheating, cheating & more cheating. Plus the fans of the clubs that benefit from it, condone it.

I feel that we just have to replace the inevitable leavers and add a quality striker. There will of course be some who will be naturally coming to the end of their Burnley careers.

I got my head around relegation months ago, so didn’t feel a great deal yesterday.

I’m looking forward to next season, although suspect we’ve got an interesting summer to get out of the way first. Hopefully it’s the good kind of interesting, because I think we all know deep down that’s there’s some financial horrors lurking not too far away.

I don’t think we should get carried away with any thoughts that the Championship will be easy next season. I’m sure Luton will be strong and there are some very big/wealthy clubs in there who won’t underperform every season.

How do I feel? I feel better than I would have done if we had been relegated by the beginning of March - which is what many on here were saying not so long ago. Also, I feel the same regarding our points tally. There were some who said we'd do a Derby. Anyway, that said, Kompany is now on borrowed time, just like any another relegated manager, and he has to hit the ground running next season or else he'll be gone by the end of October.

It is what it is.

It’s not a suprise, it was fully expected.

Players will leave, but like others I’ve no attachment to any of them so I’m not bothered which ones go and which ones stay in all honesty. I’ve certainly on non match days (when I’m immersed in watching the game I’m a bit of an emotional lunatic) got a lot more chilled in recent years with the downs and so I’m fairly indifferent today.

Plus I despise the experience of watching us get beat every week and all the VaR and other nonsense which comes with the prem.

It’s felt every ‘slow motion’ for me this season and a long death.

Theres a huge job on now shaping the squad for next season.

Time to draw a line under what’s happened this season and hope lessons have been learned.

I hope Kompany has at least a couple of weeks off after next Sunday to recharge his batteries. We need him and the team to hit the ground running in August.

I feel this has been a wasted season. One which we failed to build on the players who worked well as a team to get us promoted.
Why on earth would you want to replace Muric as No.1 goalkeeper. Why would you not move heaven and earth to keep Harwood Bellis or even Nathan Tella. Why let Barnes go, then hastily try and replace him with Redmond.
External factors have been really disappointing and disproportionate in the effects on results. I’m talking about VAR - I say scrap it - it doesn’t work.
Officiating of games has been woeful.
Finally catering at games has been poor. Awful pies.
See you all next season.

Doesn't hurt as much as previous relegations - it's been likely since the start of the season. All about next season now and what is certain to be a busy, nervy summer, but I'm looking forward to next season already.

A sense of relief that what we knew was on the cards back in October has now finally happened. I don't think we ever looked good enough to stay in this league. We deserve to be relegated. I haven't enjoyed this season at all and I'm glad it's over.

Worried about the financial situation and how we're supposed to make a return on this bloated squad of expensive, mediocre players. I can't see anything other than heavy losses on last summer's disastrous experiment.

Concerned that we might end up making a lot of the same mistakes this summer, where we fail to address key positions in favour of trying to discover the next flashy £80 million player.

The mentality at the top of the club has to change, quickly, because this season has been an absolute car crash that we might be paying for for a long time.

I no longer worry about the financial situation because there's no point in worrying about something you have no control over. I'm a football fan, not an accountant. Yes, I'll moan about the heavily leveraged buyout and those who allowed it to happen, but that's the extent of it.

I accepted relegation as early as the Everton home loss, glad its all over now. We will bust a gut to try and get up to face another season of biased referring/VAR decisions going against us. Ive got to the stage of thinking whats the point anymore. Have renewed all the same though

Baffled but accepting

Master of our own downfall

We deserve to be relegated. I truly believe that we could have spent half the money we did and by playing Muric, Taylor (that at the start of the season was odd), Benson and Zaroury, accrued more points and stayed up. That’s why I’m baffled.

More concerned about what happens next if we don’t go up than anything only so long Pace and co can play with Monopoly money with the club. Back to back seasons of no PL money and we’d be in big trouble.

Well, I don't wish to spoil your Sunday, however, unfortunately we all stop breathing at some point in our lives and worrying about it will most likely hasten that day to come a lot quicker. And yes, finances affect football, but I'm not going to worry about that either. Apart from buying a season ticket etc, I have no impact whatsoever on the club finances and servicing its debts.

To be fair, you have no impact on the team, the football, the refereeing, the VAR or the person sitting next to you in the Bob Lord stand dropping a meaty one while eating his half time pie but you comment upon them...

I thought I'd be relaxed about it given it has been coming for so long.

But I am actually quite angry and sad.

Angry that we have basically thrown away a season in the Premier League with a series of bad decisions at various levels and also at the casual way in which the club and the manager seem to be treating it.

How has it been treated ‘casually’? By most accounts, Kompany puts in 12+ hour days at the training ground. Getting relegated is bad for the club and its fans, but it’s bad for him personally too.

He’s got a lot wrong, on and off the pitch, but some of the comments, mainly from long term critics admittedly, are just bizarre.

Anxious.

This is a huge Summer for the future of the club and we can't afford to screw it up like we did last Summer, if we do, it could be a steep, fast decline.

Just worried that the same people who were in charge last summer are still in charge this summer. Let's hope lessons have been learned....

Relieved.

Let's hope VK and the board no longer treat Burnley as 'their project' and restore an identity back to this club that makes us a difficult opponent to play against in the Championship next season.

Like a lot of others have said : Relief.

Like last time, glad to be back in a competitive environment. Like last time, whilst in there you want to do well and get promoted , but you know the prize is tainted so catch 22.

Think VK made some poor decisions but again like many others have said, as long as there is learning there then all is good.

Looking forward to an interesting summer in the transfer market and really looking forward to the start of next season.

Just wish it was possible to win the Championship and stay in the same league.

Relieved that this basket case of a season is over. I got sick to death of screaming at the TV every time the ball was passed back to the keeper for no reason. And every dodgy VAR decision.

Looking forward to being a big fish again next year.
