Sell one Keep one
If offers come in for both Muric and Trafford and going of some rumours both are being watched who would you sell if bids come in at
Muric £10 Million
Trafford £20 Million
For me it's got to be Trafford I don't think we've got the time to fully develop him
Muric £10 Million
Trafford £20 Million

Re: Sell one Keep one
Heard rumours Trafford went to see players at Bolton when he'd been dropped and said he'd never play for Burnley again, no idea if there's any truth in it.
If we could get £30 million for the pair of them it maybe right to sell both and replace with a stronger goalkeeper

The Bolton players obviously so traumatised by the whole experience that they were unable to muster a serious challenge in yesterday’s Play-Off Final.bumba wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 2:11 pmHeard rumours Trafford went to see players at Bolton when he'd been dropped and said he'd never play for Burnley again, no idea if there's any truth in it.

Sell both, gives us funds to buy another keeper and strengthen the weak areas like CM and CF.

A lot of fans seem to think that when we sell a player we have all those funds available to buy players, if we sell Trafford we'd have to pay City what we owe them plus any % sell on clause they have. We'd then only have what was left, it'd be hard to buy three quality players with what was left

Return Trafford and ask for a full refund
Re: Sell one Keep one
Trafford needs to go. It's difficult to see him being accepted by the fans at this point. So just try and get as high a fee as possible, probably between 10 and 20 mil with add ons.

Sell muric. Trafford potential is higher, a year in the champs will do wonders for him

Ok, sell both and get a new GK on a free transfer, like Heaton was.bumba wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 2:27 pmA lot of fans seem to think that when we sell a player we have all those funds available to buy players, if we sell Trafford we'd have to pay City what we owe them plus any % sell on clause they have. Re: Sell one Keep one
Love good unsubstantiated rumours and claims about the fans

Muric is 25 and has more experience in the championship
Trafford is 21 and has more PL experience
It’s down to the manager to decide which has the best future with us next season
We can get over £20 million for Trafford
Muric probably £15-20 million, maybe more

Posters / fans talk about the system, is the system actually the problem and not the GK?

Muric will stay because hes probably worth more to us than the £5m we'd be lucky to get for him.

Re: Sell one Keep one
I can see why some regard Trafford as damaged goods and this is short sighted in my opinion.
If he is full of himself he’ll likely force a move anyway.
My best scenario is he goes to the Euros as number 3 and returns wanting to play for us in the Championship season, a better keeper playing at the level he possibly should have played last season.
I don’t think it will be good for players and fans alike if we have another Trafford v Muric season.

I'm glad our fans aren't anywhere near the negotiating table for our players.
We can be the harshest of judges. Both keepers carry a hefty price while under contract. We will have no problem getting our money back. Trust the process.Trafford is very highly thought of by people who move in those circles. Even if we don't feel it.

Wood was a freak signing. Unusual circs.
Anybody who offers £20m for Trafford would have the offer snapped up PDQ.

I think this season has proven the system won't be effective in this league unless you have the best players, it'll be fine again in the championship but if we get promoted again there needs to be a serious think about our style and system

Re: Sell one Keep one
I can imagine Trafford thinking his BFC career is over, given the fans reaction towards him towards the last of his games, where a kick out of play caused derision.
Then he watches Muric boot one off Calvert Lewin, has an under 5’s error (letting the ball go under his foot) then perpetually kick to the oppo at the edge of the box v Tottenham and be given a free pass.
If we get the money to not make a loss, best to let him go before a section of the fans go full Jimmy Mullen on him.

Trafford has to go. He has to be one of if not the worst value signing we have ever made.
He will get roasted alive in the championship with its extra physicality and teams going more direct. He’s an absolute weakling.
The signs were there even in preseason what he was all about.
Hope we never see him in a Burnley shirt again

You are talking about the England U21 keeper here. Maybe the issue is that the defence in front of him was not up PL standards and our GK coach did not have PL experience?Shaggy wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 8:16 pmTrafford has to go. He has to be one of if not the worst value signing we have ever made.

The issue is also that the midfield in front of the defence and the forward line were not up to PL standards either. Some cannot see past that the GK position was the sole reason for relegation.

I don't think we will have any players here for the long haul anymore the aim is to sell them all on at a profit, we may see some potential come through the door but then we'll always sell them on123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 8:41 pmLast season there was a clear bond, we need to get shut of players who the club don’t think have a future and have a 25 man squad that we know are in it for the long haul

That’s the overall policy but there are still players at any club that you need to keep for extended periods.
Right now anyone we sell isn’t to sell them for profit it’s to sell to recoup the loss in tv money we will have next season

Throwing Trafford into a premier league starting 11 was like a Michelin star restaurant promoting the 16yr old pot washer to head chef
I don’t doubt he has the potential, but that comes with experience, and building up. You don’t check them straight in and leave them to make the same mistakes over and over again

Perhaps it was contractural. No doubt that he wasn't ready, though.
