He completely stopped trying towards the end with us to be fair, he's a great striker but didn't want to be here for his last twelve months.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 4:18 pmYet there's still some plonkers on here that think Chris Wood was sh1t.

We are just so f**king shite. It's painful
Re: Burnley v Forest Thread
Season encapsulated! Lots of meaningless possession in opposition half and then far far too easy to score against!

15 goals (so far) in all comps for Forest for Wood and only 4th player to score for and against us in the Prem.
Not sure who other 3 are, maybe Jayrod and Andre Gray, McNeill?

Not so sure about 'stopped trying'. More lost form and things got a bit stale.spt_claret wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 4:20 pmHe completely stopped trying towards the end with us to be fair, he's a great striker but didn't want to be here for his last twelve months.

Re: Burnley v Forest Thread
I still maintain everyone who said "Weghorst was a Wood replacement, Dyche saw him as a head on a stick" is projecting their own ignorance. Maybe he was in ALKs eyes but Dyche said he'd targeted Weghorst a while, yes Wout arrived as Wood left, but Dyche isn't stupid, style wise they're miles apart and Weghorst made far more sense as an upgrade on Jay/Barnes as the link man.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 4:21 pmNot so sure about 'stopped trying'. Cornet scored some belters but the team as a whole struggled with him. I think had we signed Wout in the summer a Wout/Wood pairing could have worked.

Decided to watch my grass grow today as it is more fun than watching this lot.
Nipped in to see how we were doing…….
Then watched that lump Amdouni blaze a sitter over.

And people keep lapping up the absolute tripe Kompany offers up. They then expect him to lift this team to get promoted next season.

I listened to VK’s press conference and it was all very positive. Today was the start of the new season, we’re going to go ‘all out’ etc.
Then you get to today and it’s a complete disconnect..

What is wrong with marking their attackers at set pieces - it’s just basic defending

Usual problems -
No idea how to defend
No idea what to do once we’ve passed it around their area

Not really, be serious.
They're going down despite the great media love-fest about them.
We should be above them, too , if not for VAR.

He got them goals because he has great anticipation, movement and speed of thought.
Oh and he's still got a yard and is a big, strong lad.
Stop having yourself on, you'd have taken a shoulder off Esteve and fell over.
