Whether he goes to Bayern or not is irrelevant. What is relevant though, is that he seems to be whoring himself about. First Brighton, then Brentford and now Munich. He’s obviously not in it for the long term.
Or the clubs mentioned have considered him without him whoring himself out.

But using that logic if he goes we should be looking at someone without a current job as a manager to replace him, as surely if someone who is employed lets the club know he would be interested then he isn't in it for the long haul either.

Tuchel to a rookie that has just got 24 points out of 114 !!!!! wow would be so bizarre. His stubbornness, tatics and the way he uses subs so so out of his depth - it's like us employing Coleman and Bell

When we got VK it was a smart move-we were definitely punching above our weight. His first season with us was a dream, the table and style of play said it all. This season has been a disaster. Whilst we were on an upward trajectory we would keep VK interested in our club. But for me I doubt if he has the appetite to go through the 46 match grind of a championship season, knowing even if we get promoted he has an impossible task of keeping our club in an ever improving PL league, where again he would be favorite for relegation. If this rumour is true it would suit him down to the ground-he could vanish from the spotlight of English football, and start with his backroom team with a club of star players. Personally I feel this would be a great solution for all parties-it saves us huge compensation and gives us time to recruit at a time when more options are available than when Dyche left us. Moyes or Carrick, both northern men with good track records would create a team based on our abilities, with better disciplines, more balanced and not a dream style of sexy football we don't have the players to execute

So, he continually referred to a 5 year project that he was supposedly committed to but really it was all a load of bull ****.
Now there’s a surprise. :o :o

Sounds like Bayern have contacted VK to me. And I don’t care who you are, you’re not turning that job down if it’s offered to you.

I still think he’ll be our manager next season. Sounds like he’s on a shortlist for consideration but no more than that.

You have really got to imagine what the likes of Kane, Musiala etc… are thinking about this (if it happens). Going from some of the best managers in the world to Kompany.

Got to imagine Kane etc…. Will be pushing for the exit door

I think if they have been in touch with him and the likes of Fabrizio are reporting on it. It’s probably a bit more than just shortlisted.

Well, considering his last tweet says 'he's on the list', then yeah, shortlisted.

If he's going to leave, he can have the decency to do it quickly so we can get a proper pre-season with his replacement.

Considering Bayern have just come 3rd in a 1 horse race, you would imagine those players and the rest of the squad will be thinking about there effort this reason rather than looking to criticise anyone else. They finished below Stuttgart

Whoring himself? A worldwide name, in footballing terms, gets linked by websites that rely on internet traffic to survive, and all of a sudden he's compared to a whore? You know what, we've become a right bunch of gobshite fans.

The fact CT mentioned on another thread yesterday about the risk of him walking rather than being sacked makes me think there's something in this. I also think this season will end up a terrible blip on a big CV in a few years to come. Didn't expect a link to a big club so soon though.

Im with Newcastle in thinking (or in my case maybe hoping) he'll still be here next season. They'll have a couple of other big names on that shortlist surely.

I am wondering whether this all started to build up when conflicting stories started appearing about Robins being sounded out "in the event VK was to move to another club". It meant AP could rubbish the stories and of course if VK takes the decision to move AP loses no credibility

VK said he signed a five year contract to reassure the players that he wanted to sign, that he was here for the longterm.

I suspect his parting shot will be a drive past at Gawthorpe in an open top limo sticking two fingers up at those players , saying up yours , you didn’t really expect me to be telling the truth did you.

Exactly that. His tactical naivety was shown up in the home defeat to Bournemouth recently. They highlighted on MOTD how our defence was repeatedly breached by the same move with their attackers bearing down on our goal. One of the MOTD pundits showed clips and referenced how this was happening throughout the match “time and time again yet no tactical switch or changes were made to try and counteract this happening”.

I thought people knew not to believe that sort of stuff after Coyle.

It might mean more to us but it’s just a job to them.

I highly doubt that is how world class players think.

They will be thinking our club needs ambitious signings and a top manager to get us back to where they should be. Fighting for champions league titles and winning all the domestic titles.

Taking the claret tinted specs off, I highly suspect there top players were expecting an Ancelotti/Klopp/Pep type manager. Not a Kompany type.

Makes me LMAO that people on here are mentioning big names like Moyes.

Come to poor little Burnley. Win promotion in style to the most-watched sports league in the world, and we'll laud you like a god. Fail in that league and we'll castigate you as a whore.
What a bunch of toxics we've become. Moyes coming here? Don't make me laugh. He'd have to be a desperate as the Yosser Hughes 'gizza' job, I can do that' character out of Boys from the Blackstuff.

Even if he'd kept us up this season, I doubt him or anyone else in football would have expected Bayern Munich to want him.

Do you not find that statement slightly disingenuous?

It’s not like VK has just failed is it. He’s given us the worst season in our clubs history (3 points per game). The club has stuck by him when in reality they should have sacked him. For him to be seemingly pushing himself about not even 24 hours after getting us relegated.

You can be a fan of him etc…. But surely you can appreciate why fans are ****** off? (Take me out of this equation because no doubt you won’t react well due to my username).

I think a fair few people on here could do with keeping in mind what they're going to post when it turns out Bayern don't go for Kompany. Both those slagging him off and those telling us he's obviously a good manager because Bayern want him.

Because of the loyalty the club has shown and the fact he’s leaving the club in a mess that he has made?

You wanted him sacked not so long ago. Do you not want that now? You were even reeling off replacements.

If we sack him it costs a lot of money. If he's poached by somebody, we get a lot of money.

He's full of inconsistencies and always has been. Nowhere to be seen though when we hit a good spell. He was the same when Dyche was here.

The very fact that Kompany has been listed by Bayern as a potential new manager, and that he appears open to such a move, highlights the stature in which he is being viewed and his availability. Even if he doesn’t get appointed other clubs throughout Europe will have been alerted and probably at least one of them will confirm their interest. I would be very surprised if he is managing us for another season in the Championship.

I’ll be disappointed if he goes (especially after all the talk of next season starts now etc) but if he has been offered the Bayern job he would probably be foolish to turn it down. I think he could end up being another Gerrard / Lampard who can’t replicate his playing career at manager level. Having said all that no manager is bigger than our club.

Clearly there is something happening here, it’s gathering to much pace now.

As a fan, I would like the club to come out and strongly deny these “rumors” and issue a statement to the contrary.

They do this then the speculation stops and we get on with it.

The lack of info coming out from the club is very worrying at present. The fans need to be reassured - NOW.

Everyone just needs to calm down and see what happens. People slagging him off and he could well be still our manager next season.

Been lots of pleasing on the eye football.

Just cause you (a mere mortal who doesn’t understand football tactics) can’t see a system doesn’t mean there hasn’t been one.
I can proudly claim I don't understand football tactics. If what we've had to endure this season is pleasing on the eye football then I fear for the game.

What we need if Kompany does go is another hoofball manager. Most Burnley fans would be happy again

TBH, I fear for the game in any case.
