Re: More staff turnover
*If*/when VK stays, there is a worry that a management team which pi$$ed the Championship will be dismantled, despite now being back in it.
That being said, perhaps new staff who haven’t always worked with him, might provide more challenge and accountability to the manager. Could be argued that’s been something that’s missing.
“It was in early March, during a conversation between staff at Burnley’s training ground, that a member of the coaching team offered what could be the perfect epitaph to the club’s Premier League campaign.
“We knew it was going to be difficult,” he said. “But not this difficult.””
Might not be the worst to have a change, based on that. You could also argue that fitness and goalkeeping have been two big issues this year. A change in both departments (looking at who he brought with him) might also be beneficial.

Re: More staff turnover
On the Physio front its worth looking at how many players have been injured whilst not playing than in a game this season. Redmond, Al Dahkil, and others plus others that seem to struggle for fitness all the time. Maybe VK's methods havent been agreeable to them hence departures to Leicester and the like
On the videographers, whatever happened to stuff like Clarets uncut??

Re: More staff turnover
The lack of interesting behind the scenes content is really poor. Its a lot worse than it was 10 years ago when we had Ings, Arfield trippier etc joking around on camera.clarets1978 wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2024 2:32 pmOn the Physio front its worth looking at how many players have been injured whilst not playing than in a game this season. You could really sense the spirit in the team through the videos and it really helped build that bond with the fans. This season I don't even know which members of our squad speak English
Re: More staff turnover
You could say that for the season just gone but for the year before it was the complete opposite. In the 22/23 Championship season we probably had more access than has ever been seen before and it was really well produced ( having one of the best seasons ever helped)
It was only a year ago that almost every department at the club was being lauded over due to the high quality output.

Just listening to Tavolieri on the Bee Hole End podcast, who said Pace had told him they were looking for an assistant coach. Bellamy on the way out then?burnleytom wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2024 11:38 amThat being said, perhaps new staff who haven’t always worked with him, might provide more challenge and accountability to the manager. It smells more to me of a desire for a Director of Football, which I can see going down like a lead balloon. Something has happened that is for sure.

The ball boys have been provided from a local grassroots club this season.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2024 10:06 amThey are changing the Ball Boys to Burnley college students next year.
That's where they recruit the flag bearers from at the minute, but haven't been the most reliable.
It's not exactly the age where you would want to do these jobs.

Re: More staff turnover
Really? Thats interesting. Especially with the GK coach going.
Is that all part of Kompany leaving or are the changes planned by him?
Re: More staff turnover
Something definitely odd going on with the club at the moment. I guess we'll see what happens in the next few days but lots of uncertainty after relegation is not ideal at all.

Tell you what all this sounds like to me: his staff have all resigned in advance so they’ve worked their notice and Kompany’s new club don’t have to compensate us for them?

It’s looking increasingly likely. Only just logged on here, but I had a text message from a guy who generally gives good, reliable info, and it inferred that VK and ALL his staff have gone. Someone tasked with emptying his office and filling a skip. Why is the silence from the club deafening??
Embarrassing all round.

Re: More staff turnover
I hope that is not true because it probably means Pace sacked him in that case (there’s no way a deal got done with Bayern so quickly) and he’s sandbagged Pace in to sacking him having already lined up Bayern - meaning no payout for us and potentially a payoff!!!Claretitus wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 7:03 pm

Re: More staff turnover
I think your imagination is running wild because the scenario you've described would probably mean the exact opposite meaning severance pay & no compensation. Kompany would be a free man with a pay out & without bayern being obligated. Pace will be sitting tight he doesn't have to do anything apart from wait & see what happens.NewClaret wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 7:12 pmI hope that is not true because it probably means Pace sacked him in that case (there’s no way a deal got done with Bayern so quickly) and he’s sandbagged Pace in to sacking him having already lined up Bayern - meaning no payout for us and potentially a payoff!!!

This may or may not be the case, NewClaret, but all this is the sort of thing that happens at other clubs, not Burnley.NewClaret wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 7:12 pmI hope that is not true because it probably means Pace sacked him in that case (there’s no way a deal got done with Bayern so quickly) and he’s sandbagged Pace in to sacking him having already lined up Bayern - meaning no payout for us and potentially a payoff!!!
Since the Americans took over, this feels less and less like the club I've supported for nearly sixty years.

Re: More staff turnover
That’s an interesting take about back room staff leaving and working their notice so there would be no compensation for them. Surely they lose some kind of loyality bonus if they resign?
I don’t think Bellamy would be joining kompany at Bayern, he left Anderlect due to personal problems regarding his mental health so he probably doesn’t want to be far away from family again

Re: More staff turnover
We’re saying the same thing I think. If it were true his staff had left and his office were being cleared, my point was it would be likely that somehow Kompany had been sacked (requiring a pay off) having lined up Bayern on the side (meaning no compensation for us). Getting wildly speculative here so probably best I just shut up.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 7:20 pmI think your imagination is running wild because the scenario you've described would probably mean the exact opposite meaning severance pay & no compensation. For me the prospect of compensation is about the only good thing that would come from this saga.

Re: More staff turnover
Someone earlier in the thread mentioned there might be a lowball clause in the contract which could mean no compenstaion from a larger club. I must admit I didn't really understand why we would have agreed to this.NewClaret wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 7:53 pmWe’re saying the same thing I think. When would the backroom staff have handed in their resignations, if they had a month's notice to work would this indicate that VK's move has been brewing for a while.
Has he been plotting this instead of concentrating on the run in or are we all overthinking

Re: More staff turnover
You have to hand it to pace he's a lucky sod on the quiet first dyche & now kompany managing to get compensation (although with dyche just meant not paying him) instead of honoring lengthy contracts. I think next season would have unfolded with kompany being under intense pressure & he knew it & pace again has saved himself money again.NewClaret wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 7:53 pmWe’re saying the same thing I think. If Kompany goes the might as well take his backroom staff with him. Most of them are his close friends.

Interestingly The Telegraph (McGrath) are reporting that Kompany is taking his back room staff with him, including Bellamy.

Re: More staff turnover
We've just had THE most appalling season and it's up there with some of the utterly dreadful ones we were experiencing in the lower echelons! BUT I'll be absolutely gutted if VK really does go. He absolutely walked the Championship once and I'm convinced he can do it again. Whether after promotion he would then be a better PL manager due to his experiences this season is a question for another day. He can attract players who can rip the Championship up and if we lose him we're losing exactly the guy we'd be looking for to fill the vacancy.

People who tend to be recruited don’t stick around that long from my observations, but I don't know why they leave… that said I think a lot of work is farmed out now and theres more hybrid working.
