Re: Next manager
I haven’t read all the post and only skimmed over them, but whoever we get in needs to be ready for the Premier League should we go up.
Of the names mentioned, I’m not sure Calderon or Rosenior would be ready for that.
Robins possibly could, Moyes or Cooper would be the ones for me

I like Robins. Just quietly gets on with it, hasn't spent a fortune, and in my eyes Coventry have overperformed in recent seasons.

There’s no way that Bayern only spoke to Kompany the day after the season ended, yet Kompany spoke a lot about planning for both outcomes , “prem” and “championship” , did the plan never include Kompany being here for the Champ?

Re: Next manager
People keep mentioning Moyes. There is absolutely no chance that either our board would want Moyes (style of play) or Moyes would want a role in the Championship. He has broadly been a premier league manager for circa twenty years and I just can’t see it.

I’m not convinced pace will of planned for a sudden Kompany departure especially after this disaster season, could you imagine Brian laws being linked with united after taking us downHedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 5:50 pmI thing this is sarcastic , but I actually had to at thought just before I logged in to this site.

Who’d have thought Kompany would go Bayern? Plus, Moyes lives locally and might want a different type of challenge.Hibsclaret wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 5:51 pmPeople keep mentioning Moyes. Re: Next manager
baring in mind the idea of the owners is to attract young players and sell them on they went all in with VK to do that - not seeing many (any) names being mentioned that could really replicate that. Maybe they will be forced into a rethink (no bad thing)

Re: Next manager
Kompany to Bayern is far more likely than Moyes to Burnley. Younger manager going to a bigger club rather than an experienced guy who doesn’t need (or likely want) a Championship job.

Yeah - both big names and will have a lot of contacts. GVB more experienced and has played multiple systems... Don't know much about Van Nistelrooy as a manager like but GVB has won silverware as a manager, which I think is important.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 6:59 pmVan bronkhurst is interesting thought, I was only speaking to my lad about van nistlerooy last night, don’t think he’s been in a job since leaving PSV

I keep saying it but Marcelo Gallardo would be perfect for us. Look at this win record along with countless trophies at river plate and he is a free agent

Re: Next manager
You might be right that Rooney was also on the shortlist (thank god that never happened), but I also heard Knutsen was in the thinking at some pointNewClaret wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 11:44 amReally, I heard it was Wilder and Rooney? (off here, not anybody itk)
Knutsen I don’t know a lot about but he has a very good record at Bodo Glimt so that’s oddly the one I’d be most excited about but have to say in general would be left pretty deflated if Kompany left.
There was some study a while back that looked at the effect of a manager on the team, and Knutsen had the best score. He's been quite remarkable at FKBG. Took over a newly promoted team in his first season, finishing only 3 pts above relegation, then came 2nd, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st. They'd never won a title before then. Currently top of the league with 7 wins from 9 games. And he plays great football
Re: Next manager
Trouble is Pace doesn't have a clue who half the managers fans talk about are, Robins he'll know of because of the semi final.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 7:23 pmI keep saying it but Marcelo Gallardo would be perfect for us. He won't know anything about football and that's where all this could unravel

Re: Next manager
Took Sturm Graz to there first Austrian Bundesliga title in 15 years.
Took them to the quarter finals of the Europa conference league where they lost to Lille.
Still quite young and plays an exciting (Klopp) brand of football.

Don’t know anything about him but based on what you have just said do you think he would think the championship is his next step or wouldn’t something like German football be his next step then a palace or wolvesNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 7:30 pmTook Sturm Graz to there first Austrian Bundesliga title in 15 years.

Re: Next manager
I’m not sure if we can attract him, but he has expressed a desire to manage in England before.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2024 7:33 pmDon’t know anything about him but based on what you have just said do you think he would think the championship is his next step or wouldn’t something like German football be his next step then a palace or wolves
So I’m hoping Pace could sell him “the project” and offer him a really good chance of being a premier league manager in 12 months.

Re: Next manager
I’d love Robins to get linked purely for the Coventry fans reaction.
Keen that we avoid any links with the Sleepwalker Cooper though.

Re: Next manager
The next manager will entirely depend on how Pace is now thinking.
Does he continue with the "project " ?
Does he try to get us back up quickly before the money runs out ?
Does he want to steady a wobbly ship ?
A lot of the decision making will depend on what Kompany leaves behind.
All of the above will make the choice of manager differ from what fans wish for.

Re: Next manager
He has huge shoes to fill, as co-hosts of the next World Cup we must show to be somewhat competitive. Former coach John Herdman did a magnificent job qualifying Canada for the last World Cup. He was able to persuade relatively new immigrants from recognized football playing countries to show their allegiance to Canada. He's now Toronto FC head coach.

Re: Next manager
Best choice would be Miron Muslic
Terrific coach plays front foot football and gets the very best out of his teams. Performed admirably at Cercle Bruges (owned by Monaco) over the past two seasons.
I’m pretty sure he’d be the perfect fit for us.
Alan, you can contact me if you’re looking for an upgrade
