Regarding the Millar link, would we really be signing any players whilst we don’t know who the manager will be?

Not a rumour but would you take Ben Brereton-Diaz on loan or permanent if offered, he scored 6 in 14 for Sheff Utd whilst on loan
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
That's ridiculously good coming into a team that bad with 0 Premier league experience. I doubt he will be playing in the championship.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2024 8:22 pmNot a rumour but would you take Ben Brereton-Diaz on loan or permanent if offered, he scored 6 in 14 for Sheff Utd whilst on loan

His loss we have plenty of cover

In addition to Burnley, other teams from the Premier League are interested to sign him. Good season under Vincent Kompany with 6 goals for Burnley. @SkySportDE

He really would if he can stay fit, his runs in behind against championship defenders, I think he could easily play centrally in the championship
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Who is pushing to sign him when our manager is about to leave? And besides that, that's a lot of money. Too much for JBL in my opinion.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2024 6:13 pmExcl. Don’t really see the point of signing somebody the new manager may not even want. Wouldn’t pay it tbh.

Our main transfer guy Williams is the person who negotiates
We don't need another Tella situation when our silly bids lost him
JBL is a class player and at £9m is a bargain

I think he’d score as many as Tella in the champ, maybe more, and he went for £20m. I think he’d be a great signing at that price.
Incidentally, on insta videos he has a private trainer and he’s training in his Burnley gear. Hopefully a good sign.
Shout out for Anass who is also doing extra sessions.

Sort of think Bruun Larsen is too good for the Championship and I'd be surprised but pleased if he fancied it.

I like Larsen, warmed towards him towards then end. I think he’d be great in the Championship but we have about 6 wingers we could say that about atm. If Koleosho, Odobert and Benson left I’d sign Larsen, so we’d have Redmond Anass Larsen Tresor.

I expect bids for Odobert and Trafford, maybe Berge and I think collectively with Kompany you might get as much for that group of four as you paid for the entire 16 last summer.
If that happens it’s fair to say we spent well because we ended up with a much stronger squad for the investment we made. Obviously a lot to unfold first though.

If we end up with say £15m for Kompany - the middle figure between what we want and what they have offered…..then that’s £85m for Trafford, Odobert and Berge. We’ll be lucky to get half that.

Far from guaranteed that Munich will not look elsewhere as Burnley seem to be sticking to their guns over compo. If Kompany has left the club that puts him in a very tricky place regarding Breech of Contract law, I’d have thought… after all that is what contracts are for.NewClaret wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 12:49 pmFortunately for us I think you’re right. £20m Kompany (know the figure is actually €)
£25m Odobert
£25m Trafford (we will want a profit on the £14-£19m paid)
£20m Berge
Round numbers.
No point arguing over valuations - the point is there’s a route to significantly recovering the money spent in summer whether it turns out to be £70m, £80m, £90m by selling just a few of our good performers and leaving us with a stronger squad than we ended the Championship campaign with (notwithstanding LB).

Very much doubt that Kompany/Pace have fallen out about this and also expect Kompany will understand Pace demanding the full contracted amount. If I were Kompany I’d be more mad with Bayern for being stingy over a few £m in that scenario.
Tbh though I expect it’s all wrapped up and the formalities are just being done & signed.

You’ve just used one incorrect figure and made three up, no wonder you don't want any arguments.NewClaret wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 1:59 pmLet’s see. I was basing it on:

To further add even though you're trying to use those Claret tinted specs again I don't think you realise that this is not an example of the model working. It doesn't work if you sell your player of the season, your biggest talent, your England goalkeeper and your manager all at once- leaving you with a bloated squad that- despite what you say- has in no way shape or form proved its better than the previous one.
It was acknowledged that we never replaced Tella and Maatsen, we've got the same goalkeeper, Roberts is probably still the best RB (given assignon isn't ours). Esteve is an upgrade although Beyer was great at Champ level anyway. Centre mid only Berge is better and he's leaving in the scenario you paint. Out wide JBL isn't ours, Odebert you've just sold so it's back to Benson and Zaroury. Koleosho is an upgrade I grant you but maybe only in terms of potential- in terms of output he's miles away yet.
Upfront it really depends which Foster turns up.
We've got a bigger squad yeah. In your scenario is it that much better than the Championship one? No. Does it cost a hell of a lot more- yes. That's not the model working.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
On Kompany I don’t think anyone knows the true figures. What I saw first was our local fan accounts reporting £20m then the European media are reporting the same in €. I personally would think it more likely that any compensation fee is both set in and paid in £’s, but whether it’s £20m, £18m or £15m nobody seems to know as different numbers have been reported.boyyanno wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 3:24 pmYou’ve just used one incorrect figure and made three up, no wonder you don't want any arguments.

On prospective transfer fees they’re of course guesses and could be higher/lower. Just like our reported spend last summer is all guess work so we don’t know what we need to recover.
My point wasn’t to get in to arguments about individual fees because, as you say, they’re made up guesses until you get an offer from a club. Or several clubs, ideally. None might go or offers might come in for other players not mentioned.
It was that there’s quite clearly a route to recovering a very good proportion of last years spend and still be left with a much stronger squad.
Whether that’s a balanced squad is a different issue and I agree that LB, midfield & up front are obvious weaknesses currently. Thats not really whether the model is paying dividends though, more the application of the model.
Well all prospective transfer fees are
On Kompany

Chelsea eyeing up Trafford for £20M according to The Sun/Nixon.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Brilliant. So we could raise 33 million for Trafford and VK along with parachute payments. Add Berge and Odobert to that for another 40 and we should be able to have a decent transfer budget and hopefully pay off some debt.

£20m won’t be the price for Trafford with so many clubs interested in him. This is opening bid territory.
