Not fussed about either Manchester team, although I agree that despite their undoubted technical brilliance, City games are generally unwatchable.

Apart from when they play an equal - Madrid/Arsenal this season - or on the rare occasion it goes tits up like today. Still expect them to turn it round but it’s a decent game, surprisingly.

I thought this might be the new Kompany to Utd thread.

Been like watching VK's Burnley.

Lots of meaningless safe possession without ever looking like scoring. Easily picked apart on the break.

Throw in a customary keeper clanger.

Not usually a big fan of Wan-Bissaka but he’s doing a v good job against Doku.

Wan Bissaka is an absolute monster of a full back when it comes to stopping a winger.

He’s having a great game so far.

How thick are footballers?
Walker gets in Martinez face for taking his time leaving. Players from both sides get involved and more time is lost.

England really are spoiled for choice when it comes to right-backs.

Would this go down as a more surprising loss than when City lost the final to Wigan? 😉

Pep is clearly a great manager, but my lord his brand of football might be the most boring I have ever seen.

The sooner tippy tappy football dies the better.
It's downright bizarre how it's considered 'sexy football' and 'playing football the right way' - like you say it's boring.

It's not even attack minded first - his first thought is controlling a game and strangling the opposition. Boring, and this obsession with Guardiola's methods from the media and the 'Tacticos' has lead to sporting directors & managers. in many countries making some very strange decisions.

I have a very strange feeling, I think it is wanting United to win; never had it before so not sure.

I was not going to watch as I knew both could not lose. But the disappointment of City scoring would suggest I favour United.
Can someone call a doctor please

Game on!! I really hope Citeh don't go on to win, I have a serious dislike for them, the most plastic of plastic clubs. I take no pleasure whatsoever in seeing the same team win year in year out. Not Utd fan either but a Utd win would be better than Citeh.

As much as I have little time for City, I’m finding that old habits die hard re: United and I’m wanting an equaliser.

I have many friends who are Man Utd fans from school in Salford back in the 1960's. No secret that they don't like Ten Haag but am just wondering if the game goes beyond them early it might spark yet another protest in the form of supporters leaving the ground early. Time will tell.

It cannot be over estimated as to how the focus of Ten Haag and the Manchester United players has been fully focused on the FA Cup since reaching the Final. While Man City were fully concentrated on beating West Ham on the final day Ten Haag was taking off key players (Fernandes and Martínez) at Brighton before the hour mark to try and keep both players fresh for Wembley. Even after the final home game against Newcastle Ten Haag said the main focus was Wembley when his players “would give it everything”. It paid off for them handsomely.

I hate it!
I prefer English football to the foreign keep the ball football. More going on at both ends.

Foreign teams keep the ball because it is hot!

The first 20 minutes were boring as sin. The Man City way, boring sh1te.

But after that it was a pretty decent game. Wanting either of them to win was a bit like asking which eyeball do you want a rusting tent peg driving in to.

That Mainoo fella though is looking good for England.
