Yep and been poor all year.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 5:09 pmDeserved win. Defended very well. Leeds looked a bit aimless. Roberts looked all over the place when he came on.
Another one to move on I feel - probably back to Swansea.

I hope Southampton sign Taylor Harwood-Bellis and give him the Premier League chance he deserves

I'm just popping over to the Leeds forum

Re: Leeds v Southampton
Very dissappointed with the thousands upon thousands of Leeds fans making a hasty exit after the final whistle. Thought they would've stuck around and drowned out the Southampton celebrations with a defiant rendition of whatever it is they sing. They could've really stuck it to all us lesser fans. Alas.
Re: Leeds v Southampton
Was excellent today. Would've liked us to have signed him.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 5:18 pmI hope Southampton sign Taylor Harwood-Bellis and give him the Premier League chance he deserves
Re: Leeds v Southampton
I'm sure they mentioned earlier in the season that he was signing if they were promoted. I can't remember how much they said.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 5:18 pmI hope Southampton sign Taylor Harwood-Bellis and give him the Premier League chance he deserves

Poor Leeds. Nice easy away game for me next season.
Not sure it made any difference who won that. Leeds are always a threat, but aren’t Southampton backed by a Serbian billionaire?

Huge fee.
Will be interested to see how he does next year.
Agree with Tony that he deserves a chance now.

I think Harwood-bellis will get found out massively in the premier league especially in a team who tries to play out from the back

Re: Leeds v Southampton
absolutely deserves his chance, one of those that is too good for the Championship but may or may not be good enough for the big league. There is no comparison to the two leagues. I hope he does well though, gives everything every time he plays and that's all you can ever ask.

1 of next year's sheff utd or burnley - Ipswich the same and IF Leicester do get a points deduction then that's the relegation sorted before a ball has been kicked.

Can't argue with the job Martin has done.......but there's something about him that I don't like. He comes across as a bit smug to me.Carlos the Great wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 5:26 pmRussel Martin has done a remarkable job at Southampton and players like Armstrong have vastly improved since he arrived
I still see Saints struggling next year along with Ipswich.

I really liked him but it’s a huge fee. Hope he does well for all that he did for us.

Looking at that Southampton team there will be plenty of players who have got them promoted who won’t play much next season as they aren’t prem level. Southampton need a

Re: Leeds v Southampton
I can never understand fans who say we should’ve signed Tella, THB & Maatsen.
I understand the Tella arguments, although he went for a huge fee too, but not Maatsen because he didn’t want to come and certainly not THB at £20m. I hope it comes off for them but it’d have been a huge risk for us.
Re: Leeds v Southampton
It might be suggested that THB realised that Kompany was a very good championship manager but didn't fancy him for the Premier league. How very incisive that young man was.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 5:43 pmTHB is a very good Championship player but VK didn't fancy him for our Premier league stint and I have doubts too

The bones of a strong team is there.
Mcarthy
Walker Pieters, THB, New, New
Aribo, New, S Armstrong
Brooks, New, Edozie
I’m not sure they will make the same mistake as us. I think they will stick with the core of the team and add a few quality additions.

Re: Leeds v Southampton
Depends who the four signings are.
There’s a lot of premier league experience in the squad. It just needs some quality adding to it.
They would still have the likes of Adams and Armstrong on the bench.
Plus the likes of Alcaraz and Bella Kotchup coming back from loan. I remember both of them were quite good last time in the prem.
I rate that alcaraz wouldn’t have minded if we signed him when we were in the prem.

Re: Leeds v Southampton
Just looked at there loanees that are returning in 1 month.
There starting eleven will probably looks like this (before any additions)
Bazanu
Walker P, THB, Bella Kotchup, Manning
Diallo, Aribo, S Armstrong
Alcaraz, Onuchua, Sulumena
Then they have Adams, Armstrong, Caleta Car, Smallbone, Bednerak, Stephens
That’s a pretty strong squad to start with. A few quality addition and that’s really not far away. Especially when you look at the Forrest team that’s just managed to stay up.
Interestingly onuchua has just got 19 goal contributions in 20’games for Trabonsapor so he might be a dark horse for them next season

I think the 3 promoted sides will be as equally as bad as the ones from this seasonNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 7:32 pmDepends who the four signings are.
