I understand a few of the comments regarding some of the teams mentioned but the trouble between us (Barlick) and Feniscowles was nothing to do with ethnicity. Every game played against these lot has resulted in some form of bother; I'm not saying Barlick are totally innocent but last week was fuelled by Feniscowles and there absolute thugish behaviour on the pitch which led to the scenes after the game. It does appear that Feniscowles have been kicked out of the EL league off the back of it and the chairman resigned straight after the trouble. The guy who attacked people with a screwdriver (who was already tagged!) will hopefully back behind bars for some time.
Such a shame for Padiham, who do a great thing in offering the facilities for the finals, then to be linked (unfairly) to the trouble. Every time I've visited it appears a very well run and friendly club; always enjoyed my days out there. I hope it doesn't put them off offering again but could understand it if they think it's not worth the bother.
It's an embarrassment and I'm sorry but if you're team got involved with it as well then they are equally pathetic. No wonder they struggle for referees. About 70 percent of the people in those leagues are small minded idiots who have never left Burnley for more than a few hours.
Why were there scenes after the game, could people not just get in their cars and leave? I know for a fact I wouldnt have been caught up in it if I was playing. It's a choice that people make and it happens time and time again with various teams across these leagues.

I agree. And I did say Barlick weren't totally innocent. I'd be like you, nowhere near the trouble if I'd been there. The fact Barlick team and supporters were still there after the game was they had won the cup and were being presented with it. The "fans" of Feniscowles didn't need to be still there but hung around for a while to make sure they could cause trouble after the presentation. Add the fact it was one of theirs who pulled a screwdriver out on people erred the blame their way more I'd say.
I would also question the 70% stat - like any football club/team there are some idiots but, luckily, it's much lower than that as many games are played without any trouble at all.
At the end of the day it's pathetic that grown men feel they need to fight but, whether it's next to a football pitch or down at their local, these people seem to have a requirement to show off their "manliness". They are part of society, unfortunately.

Yep like you say it's a shame. I'd love to still play but it's just not the type of people I want to associate with and I don't feel like there's any protection on the pitch if you get one idiot who decides to put in a leg breaker.
I imagine there's a lot of people in the same boat.

I don't think I would have wanted you in any of the teams that I played for.

Injury time sending off for Craven was followed by an even later goal from Daneshouse.
Craven fans behind the goal threw beer over the Daneshouse keeper, and he didn't like it.

You are coping by not playing the sport that you love playing, all because your teammates and opponents are "just not the type of people you want to associate with ".
I played pub football, Accy combination and East lancs league for 24 yrs (retired at 40) and in that time I witnessed 1 broken leg, which was our Keeper who fell awkwardly., I also met lots of fantastic people and teammates, who I am proud to associate with.
If you want to avoid the ones who do put in some X rated tackles, you have got to improve your speed of thought.

I clearly explained why I like to avoid the majority of the people involved in those teams. Bad tackles were a very minor part of it.
Also I continue to play 5 or 6 a side on 4g where people can actually play rather than have two teams lumping it from 1 end to the other.
You should tell all the professional players that have been injured by bad tackles that it's their fault they didn't think quickly enough

From playing in those leagues. Some of the changing room conversation is a disgrace and I wanted no part of it in the end. There's a team called Paak Fc in one of the leagues, you can imagine the comments aimed at them and about them on a weekly basis.
(I'm aware that racism formed no part in the story I was just adding my own observations about the type of people playing in these leagues)
The racism went both ways with Paak.

Is there now a rule on here where every thread, football and none-football, has to descend into pointless squabbling? Anyone new here would think the forum was populated by bored schoolkids, not mainly adults well into their middle age.
