Tybebo must be a bit gutted! Assuming he's the bloke who oversees the worst corners ever along with everything else I hope he can find a new job.

As VK said in his last post match conference its time to draw a line under this season. Hes not wrong. Shame he could not thank our fans but I am not surprised. Onwards and upwards

Its probably best that he is replaced by someone (no matter how talented or ambitious) who takes the time to speak to fans and keeps them informed of all goings on at the club, from catering incidents to under 18s injuries.

It’s literally just been confirmed and he’s been in Munich for like an hour or something.warksclaret wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 5:12 pmAs VK said in his last post match conference its time to draw a line under this season. Re: ARTICLE: Vincent Kompany departs for Bayern Munich
Gave me the best night of my life at Ewood, but now he's just as irrelevant as every other manager in football who doesn't manage the Clarets. I wish him no harm but couldn't care less what he achieves at BM.

Most of the 'clips' on the big screen before each home game are from the Dyche era.Goliath wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 4:52 pmNot what I said at all though is it. They posted a short professionally worded statement for 10 years of service and then nothing else. It was disrespectful. Not a single clip of the past 10 years, the players were basically gagged from saying anything apart from talking about 'freedom' which seemed to be a buzzword.
What else do you want the club to do?
Hold a vigil on the anniversary of the day he was sacked each year?

You can read into that statement what you will but quite clearly they want to make it clear that they wanted VK to stay but the situation they were presented with made it impossible.
At the end of the day VK wanted to go and did so to Bayern Munich. Not much to complain about in the way he left...! No one is going to turn down one of the games elite.
His legacy will be defined by the success or otherwise of his successor.

He just said he wished the club was run by the Up The Clarets messageboard and the new man should consult the messageboard before making any decisions.

I think there's plenty would agree that the clubs behaviour at that time lacked any ounce of class.
Personally I thought one of the greatest mangers in our clubs history deserved more than a solitary statement followed by complete silence and what I suspect was an instruction to the players not to mention it at all, hence the very strange silence and lack of thanks from them as individuals.
Think of the receptions Ferguson, Wenger and Moyes got as three examples. Dyche is our version of that and still got not a single mention when returning to the club as Everton manager.

Terrific first season, poor second season
I am also missing the Burnley appreciation part, but it may still come.
Anyway, onward and upward.
We do need an out if the box appointment though, and do far I haven’t yet seen it.

Ta ra, Vincent.
Thanks for the Championship winning season, but you were found to be hugely out of your depth last season, and incredibly lucky not to get sacked.

When Pochettino departed Chelsea there were numerous posts by Chelsea players on social media thanking him for his support and coaching and wishing him all the best.
With players from all clubs being very active on social media these days it would be surprising if the only post was the one from Beyer.

Good luck to him
A clear step up for his career and can’t be knocked for that
Has thankfully left us with a young squad of talented players that can be further developed by the next manager
Will be interesting to see how he gets on at Bayern

Good luck Vincent. Thanks for a great Championship year, our best ever season at that level. I reckon the style of football will work a treat with top notch players. You also have effectively worked for free given the compo probably covers your wages. It’s a shame we couldn’t quite stay up given you would likely have gone whether or not we stayed up.

Re: ARTICLE: Vincent Kompany departs for Bayern Munich
The Judas comparison is bonkers. One of the biggest clubs in the world comes in for him and paid handsomely too - one of the largest fees in history for a manager.
The other guy publicly lied, went behind everyone's back and jumped ship two thirds of the way through the season, for a rival club 30 miles down the road.
There's no comparison whatsoever and even to suggest such a thing shows that people have short memories. It also makes us look a bit thick.

Weird one is this.
On one hand I'm glad he's gone - last season was a joke not a project.
On the other hand I'm thinking we have potentially just lost the best future manager we will see in a long time.
Good luck Vincent, I will be watching Bayern with interest.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
I support Burnley pity Kompany couldn’t last season.
Looking forward to our new set up already.
Expect I’ll be following Kompany as much as he’s following Burnley or me from now on.
Onwards and upwards the Clarets!

A stint of two halves. First season was the best and most enjoyable I've ever experienced. Second season was the worst and least enjoyable.
Bayern is an incredible club, a genuine European superpower. There's no way he was ever going to pass that up and I hope he does well there.
This should feel like a huge disappointment but to be honest it might just be what both parties need. A change.
Hopefully the board make a good appointment and we kick on next season.

Re: ARTICLE: Vincent Kompany departs for Bayern Munich
This season gone was an absolute embarrassment and I’m glad that Bayern have took him off our hands before he costs the club even more money we can’t afford to throw down the drain.
I will be amazed if he does a good job there as he couldn’t put out a competent team this season. Selection of players and tactics were all over the place and his expensive buys in various positions stunk the place out.
Don’t begrudge him success in his new role but he needs to eat a huge slice of humble pie to succeed, don’t think that is part of his thinking, Guardiola has done us a solid, cheers Pep!
Alan was too in thrall of him to challenge him, hopefully he reigns himself in for the next manager.

Re: ARTICLE: Vincent Kompany departs for Bayern Munich
Vincent Kompany gave me one of the best football seasons ever, culminating in a once in a lifetime experience with that title win at Ewood, the kind of night most real football fans would kill for.
Last season was shite. Shame he's gone as he was better placed than anyone to sort things out for next season but I wouldn't begrudge any Burnley manager taking the Bayern job. If he learns from what he's done here, he can be a top manager. Does need to learn though.
All about who we appoint next, it's a big call and it has to be right.

Re: ARTICLE: Vincent Kompany departs for Bayern Munich
Landed on his feet has the lad.
It’s a weird feeling because I can’t remember a Burnley manager, in fact I doubt there ever has been one, that has gone from one absolute extreme to the other in consecutive seasons. The opening game of last season at Hudds was one of my favourite ever games, and our dominance continued for the remainder of the season. I would say the football was scintillating, but it was great to see us win almost every week and look genuinely a level above the opposition.
I don’t hold any hard feeling for Kompany leaving to take the Bayern job, who wouldn’t. What does rankle me is that last season was one where the club’s business plan was put ahead of the team’s success - I mentioned this quite early in the season and got quite a lot of disagreement on here. What has since transpired is that not only was the club’s business plan not aligned with on-field success, neither was Kompany’s. And that’s not easy to take as he comes across as a man of principle and integrity.
I wish him well, but I feel like BFC has been used to further VK’s career at our expense.

Either way this is literally a miracle situation for the club. Get a massive payout for a manager we most likely needed to move on

Agreed. After the Championship season we had I fully expected him to be moving on this summer. I thought he’d have got a top job on the back of another good season, keeping us in the Prem. As it stands I’m glad to see the back of him and to be paid to see him gone is a massive bonus!Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 7:57 pmYes fair enough,

Regarding Vincent Kompany departing: Goodbye, 1 great season, 1 absolute nightmare. The worst season in memory
Delighted to see him leave. But he could have brought us back up again
We need to come back up again fast. Or Pace and his ALK cronies could be taking us to a very bad place

Re: ARTICLE: Vincent Kompany departs for Bayern Munich
Lets get everything into perspective. We finished 2 points BEHIND Luton with a worse goal difference. Luton were subject to VAR , injuries, refereeing decisions-just like us. Luton spent £23m -we spent probably four times what they did. Yes he got a great offer at Beyern which I find hard to understand , but good luck to him. However don't anyone think he would not have gone to numerous other offers. No way was he going to do another season in the Championship. Alan Pace-take note -this absolutely suits all three parties-the fans, our club, and him
