Millwall are interested… New Den (not a snipe at a once well deserved reputation… which never crossed my mind).

Liking stuff like that on social media, when you are in a high-profile role where the media might shine a light, is utterly stupid.

Might be a good idea to get herself a moody online name for in future. Sad but that's how it is.

A very unwise comment given her ethnicity, best to keep such thoughts private when in a public position

She doesn’t have a role as such. She’s an external consultant.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 10:43 pmHigh profile role?

Re: Player Care Consultant
If they don't tell us what it was that she "liked", how can anyone know what to avoid? Let's face it, there are large chunks of Islam that many women are bound to dislike.

Re: Player Care Consultant
Activity on an X account under Wolfe’s name appeared to ‘like’ a post which stated “Palestinians are an invented people” and “were created to be the biggest Jew haters on Earth”, while she also appeared to ‘like’ a comment which stated “good riddance” to a poet that had been killed in Gaza.
Re: Player Care Consultant
Thanks. I'm surprised (especially about the first one) that she got away with just a reprimand. And the second is highly dodgy as well, depending what else the poet might have done apart from writing poetry.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 11:05 pmActivity on an X account under Wolfe’s name appeared to ‘like’ a post which stated “Palestinians are an invented people” and “were created to be the biggest Jew haters on Earth”, while she also appeared to ‘like’ a comment which stated “good riddance” to a poet that had been killed in Gaza.

Seemed she was close to Kompany. Perhaps the relationship with BFC will end there.

Re: Player Care Consultant
The insensitivity of some, presumably intelligent people, never ceases to amaze me particularly given the fact that, however tenuous her connection to BFC, there is a significant percentage of those living in the town are Muslim. Hopefully the club will end her involvement

Re: Player Care Consultant
As part of her role she presumably has to care for Moslim players too.
Re: Player Care Consultant
I'm sorry but this is the biggest non story going, she is a consultant so assuming she works for other clubs why link her with us.

FYI: She's associated with our club and therefore by default is high profile when it comes to scrutiny regarding social media. The fact that the BBC/Sky Sports News and other media outlets have reported this kind of proves my point. If this was you or me, nobody would have given a toss. Surprised I have to explain this to you, but there you go.

Re: Player Care Consultant
She did, she's a City fan and was on VK's testimonial committee. It's been a pattern over the past two years, even the club photographer went and was replaced by someone from City. Been similar in the medical department too I believe.

Crikey, Alan Pace and the board really did bend over backwards for VK during his tenure.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 9:48 amShe did, she's a City fan and was on VK's testimonial committee. Yeah and it's one club that I don't really want anything to do with in all honesty. Can't stand anything about that club from top to bottom.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 9:48 amShe did, she's a City fan and was on VK's testimonial committee. Re: Player Care Consultant
I have opened the sky sports link and read through. Without prejudice I came across the following
“The definition sets out how Islamophobia is a type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness. But it is also clear about its limits, including how it is not intended to prevent critique of religious belief, and how the definition is not legally binding”
I was confused as the statement seems contradictory in that one can critique religious belief - even Islam.
Then went to the British Council of Muslims report on ‘Defining Islamophobia’ presented by Baroness Sayeeda Warsi to see if there is a clearer definition. After reading through almost 1/3 of the + 150 page report I am none the wiser.
So, can someone explain in simple terms how you can separate Muslimness from Islamic belief as a faith?

Re: Player Care Consultant
Put simply she is happy with the death of thousands because they deserve it for being Muslims even though some of them are not Muslims. Not only are there Christians and Jews there, the IDF can't determine if people actually have any religious beliefs before bombing them.atlantalad wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 11:01 am

It's like if an effeminate straight bloke gets beaten up by people because they think he's gay. It's still homophobic.

Re: Player Care Consultant
Daveisaclaret: I understand what you are saying in respect to Ms Wolfe and she was rightly called out for publishing her views.
I am having difficulty in differentiating the definition of Islamophobia in the context of the quote. I understand it may be a question semantics: irrational fear of Islam. But in the quoted statement how does one differentiate Islam from the Moslem identity? See the directly quoted statement in my previous post. The quoted definition is also from the British Council of Moslems report I referred to.

Re: Player Care Consultant
the short story is, do not say anything remotely critical about the Palestinian Hamas supports or islam and you're safe. all other religions are fair game and expected to suck it up and take it.

Re: Player Care Consultant
Obviously you've been reading a few too many Daily Mail articles recently but there is a big difference between challenging a religion or someone's beliefs and the intentional prejudice and discrimination against someone for their religion/beliefs.
Re: Player Care Consultant
She is. Being a keen amateur photographer myself, ive been a fan of her work for a few years.
