Spot on
It's not though is it.

I mean, like this one, the statement released for Dyche was respectful and acknowledged the positive years he spent at the club?

Literally feels like we've quite a few fans really keen to find any stick to hit our current ownership with.

It's pretty simple for me. I'm just hoping they make another good appointment and we have a successful season in the championship.

We all laughed at the most beautiful girl in town thing but looks like Pace was pretty accurate with that analogy.

In the end, he wasn’t the messiah, just a very naughty boy. Probably best he goes.

Here’s hoping though we don’t now get Life Of Brian (Laws) 2.

Managers come and go
Burnley are better for the experience of having VK for a manager. Nobody would have thought that VK was to become our manager in the first place and he would be stupid not to take the Job at Bayern
I say good luck and thanks
Now let’s hope we can get a new manager to take us back up

Based on his opening comments at BM , VK has learned nothing whatsoever during his time at Burnley. Still selling blue sky. Glad he has gone

"I had a lot of interest from other clubs, I met good people here and that was my decision" - VK on taking the Bayern Munich job.

I fully believe that he was wanting out and had his team trying to get him out of Burnley for a good few months before the end of the season.

His entire demeanour and even vocabulary changed this season - especially in the latter parts.

Because he realised what a failure he'd made of the season, last season is 100% his failings and that'll come round at Bayern

Now it is all finally done, do we reckon we will get any kind of word from Kompany on us.

I am not after any explanation, it's Beyern Munich. Considering that he had the safest job in football last season and was allowed to stick to his principals at the expense of our Premier League position, in the hope it would continue our progression. You would think we would get a thank you at least.

I've said it months ago those signings were pure arrogance after last season, he honestly believed he could turn those players in to world beaters and believed his coaching would see us comfortable and make sky high profits.
He realised it wasn't going to happen so wanted to jump ship to save his reputation, he's gone to Bayern spouting the same rubbish about how his team's always play despite last season proving otherwise.

If he was wanting out, there was absolutely zero reason for him to change things up, for us to get results. We were just a means to an end.

He's just done a long presser and barely referenced BFC on bit. I honestly thought he would have given a thanks and wished well.

Very poor imo.

What I eventually figured out with Kompany was poor judgement, after all, as a player he would have had his arse wiped for him at City, people to pay the bills, the lot. So he won’t be used to thinking for himself, he was a robot, to deliver on the pitch. An elite player hurdle to overcome when becoming a manager.

I feel that affected his motivation style, communication with fans, selections, tactics - the lot.

So what I am interested in now is what he does regarding a message to us. Legacy remains important. **** off your former supporters and you have an army of keyboard warriors jumping on the new team’s social media posting things in a very critical way, constantly, to try to turn his new fans against him.

So he should release this flowery video clip on Instagram thanking us, his former players, and saying how much the experience developed him etc etc. if he does that right, he may get a free pass, if he doesn’t, it is poor judgement (again) and may be setting himself up for problems.

"I'm not defined by the successful years in my life, it's the moments I had tough times."

This is an odd thing for him to say, given it's off the back of a season where his inability to react appropriately during tough times was brought into question every week!

Yes, unless he means more personal problems?

His tough times football wise have been somewhat recently.

Personally I hope VK fails miserably because that will prove last season was down entirely to his own arrogance and stupidity. If he succeeds it will look like he used us by persisting with his nonsense football style to appeal to suitors whether or not we suffered on the pitch. That would be annoying!

Is that not probably true when you take wages and the structure of the transfers into consideration? (clauses, installments etc)

He has shown his true colours in the last 4-5 weeks. His body language following relegation was one who did not care we were going down. He was lucky to have kept his job post Christmas with numerous journalists amazed he was not axed. AP was exceptionally loyal to him, yet on departure he could not even say a few words to thank him for the opportunity and for his immense loyalty, and he has not mentioned the Burnley fan base. It shows the real calibre of the man. I will pretty well guarrantee the bulk of the players are glad he has gone. I have no idea how he will manage the egos at one of the biggest clubs in the world

This wouldn't be the same Vincent Kompany that cast away some of the stars from last season after they delivered for him would it?

Lack of class.

Reported transfer fees doesn't = budget.

We'll have been in or around the bottom 3 in terms of overall budget.

Brave move - and I think it will either make or break his management career. He will certainly need to hit the ground running as Bavarians reveal to think they are on a higher level than other mortals. Will be interesting to see how the Bayern Kom-Munich story unfolds.

Right from the outset I expressed my opinion on here that Kompany would not stick around to manage Burnley for a second season of Championship football. The majority on here seemed to think that he would stick around and that we would walk the Championship again enhancing his reputation as a good second tier manager still further.
Given the fallout from the past 7/10 days has anybody on here changed their opinion?

I'm expecting some sort of social media post regarding Burnley in the next few days once things have settled down a bit.
If it doesn't come and he doesn't say a word then it's genuinely p*ss poor.

When the accounts are realeased I'm pretty sure we'll see that the 3 teams with the lowest wages got relegated.

Kompany says there was plenty of interest in his services despite relegation with the Clarets and can’t wait to get started at Bayern.

He added: “I just joined the club but I’m starting to understand a little bit the recruitment process, and I can only say that the fact that I’m here means they’re doing a very good job. That’s it.

“I know what a big club Bayern Munich is. I’m very proud but also very motivated to start. The season could start today, right away.

“I think the aspect of being surprised is because you assume that it was the only club that called, and you assume that it was the only interest I had.

“You only assume that because I’m very private, that is the only reason. I was actually quite fortunate to have a lot of interest from other clubs as well.”

Hahaha wow. That's up there with Mourinho and Klopps worst. The bolded bit is full David Brent.

VK will hopefully crash and burn at Bayern as his reward for spending over £100 million, and deserting us and his 5 year plan.

Huge laughs at the VK interview. About the only thing he’s given us to smile about in the last 12 months, so cheers for that.

Hard to imagine him seeing out the season. Can you imagine him trying to handle those Bayern players who’ve seen it all and won it all? They’ll laugh him out in the end.

I'm convinced that he's a narcissist. He won't make reference to the 23/24 season with us one bit but will absolutely use the 22/23 season and continue to deflect/absolve himself of any blame.

I mean, how could it be VKs fault?! Don't you know he's the hardest working man of all time
Super Vincent can work 20 hour days for weeks on end no problem, a 40 heck even 50/60 hour weeks is childsplay for Vincent.

Burnley went down with their worst ever top flight showing? Not Vincent's fault, how could it be?! Vincent did everything right.

Narcissist. Tellin' ya.

One person’s private is another person’s sly and manipulative.

Starting to think CoolClaret may be right with the narcissist line, and that ClaretTony is right to suggest we are stronger now he has gone.

It has come as a big shock. I was fairly solidly behind him all season, barring some doubts over naivety and judgement.

Absolutely we will be stronger now he’s gone. Arrogance personified. We need everybody pulling in the same direction, to the same goal. With everything that’s being said, hinted at, etc., it’s quite clear to me that he should have been sacked at Christmas. Ok, we would have had to pay him off, but I believe we would be better prepared to come back up than we are today.
VK = conman. Busted flush. One trick pony. I sincerely hope he fails big time at Bayern, and for one will laugh long if he does.
Big long words, all the gear, no idea.

He's turned out to be everything other than what MISSION portrayed him to be as a person. Done a fantastic job on "selling himself" to our Board, club and fans. As I said on another post he has gone from being Vincent Kompany to Vincent KON-MANY.For me it has elevated my perception of Dyche's integrity

Gone further than that now. I don’t subscribe to his paid account thing, but suggesting that there was an official approach and we allowed him to speak to them.

If true, does make you wonder why the Bayern thing was apparently such a shock to the owners. Or that Sacha T was probably right when he posted about us looking at alternatives with Robins/Cole etc, and the reaction was mock outrage from Pace, or an attempt to cover up the news leaking.

I find it incredible that VK has not had the decency to send a departing message to the fans.
I suppose the Judas is still counting more than his 30 pieces of silver.
Hope he crashed and Burns at Bayern

Amazing that so many posters on here had convinced themselves that Kompany was committed to another season of Championship football at Burnley.
My gut instinct about him proved correct that his own personal ambition would far outweigh any supposed loyalty to Burnley. As soon as the PL season concluded I posted on here that he wouldn’t be hanging around for Championship Round 2.

I supported him until the end but I feel naive myself, now I can see he was all about putting himself in the shop window at our expense.
