Bugger, he wouldn't say if he's spoken with them already but did put his hat in the ring and said he would like to take the job, mentioned he had got a side to prem previously and that burnley had a good squad and money to spend and possibly in a better postion than Leicester was last year to get back up. Also said we had good owners

My thoughts from that is yes he has spoken to the club

Of course Pardew would say he would take the job. As would any manager who hasn't had a job in this country for more than 5 years and wants back in.

I would be amazed if anyone at the club thought Pardew was the answer, this all seems to to stem from someone on twitter who wants to be a journalist making a comment.

It's interesting Pardew didn't rule himself out so maybe there's something in those rumors. I still can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to actually give him a job. Lampard and Parker look like Pep Guardiola all of a sudden.

The problem with that article is that assuming that Bellamy has not gone with Kompany because he's a front runner at Burnley, becomes a nonsense if it's true that Bellamy had left Burnley immediately after the end of the season. Predictions based on false assumptions are worthless.

Pardew has a couple of promotions and FA Cup finals behind him and also did ok at Newcastle when they were a comedy club. Far better qualified than Lampard but his experience is a bit dated. So would be far from the worst candidate we could choose.

Surely if Pardew was in talks about the job he wouldn't go on talksport to chat about it? That he has done so reassures me that we're not actively considering him, at least not yet.

It does if Bellamy left because he'd come to the end of the line with VK and they couldn't see eye to eye anymore, but then almost immediately VK is leaving for Munich and so the landscape is entirely different. (Maybe?)

I'm not sure it's great PR to say "yes we made a crap appointment but our shortlist was even worse"

Rumour's all we have. The club doesn't seem to like sharing information, and we know of several other people at fairly senior level who have left without any announcement.

Never said or inferred Cooper & Robins were bad-maybe I did not word it well. But the more I hear names like Pardew mentioned , for me the more it elevates the value of the two managers I mentioned. Personally for me Cooper would have been my first choice, Robins I could live with too

Plenty of support for Cooper now down to as short as Evens with both Skybet and William Hill for Foxes job.
Corberan has drifted to 4/1 or bigger in places.

Just keep thinking how brave the new LC manager needs to be. Its generally felt the points deduction is at least 9, plus spending on players seriously constrained

if you thought you had a chance of working in the PL or the Championship you would hold out for the PL job and maybe drop if you didn't - that's just common sense.
