Very strong attacking side and it doesn't even have Bellingham or Saka in!

Re: England vs Iceland
I don’t think that’s far off our starting eleven in 9 days
Re: England vs Iceland
Pickford, Bellingham and Saka come in. Hopefully Mainoo has a good game and stays.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 7:20 pmI don’t think that’s far off our starting eleven in 9 days

Re: England vs Iceland
Think thats likely to be our starting back 4, obviously Pickford will come back in as well.
Re: England vs Iceland
Very good team. The big question is will Southgate let them play,or will the wingers be stuck out wide out of harms way, just getting in the way of the attacking full backs.Kane playing deep so there's no threat, and Pass Pass pass allowing the opposition to organise. He has done this before,
Re: England vs Iceland
Is that oir Johann as Iceland captain?
Hattrick would be good. Come on JBG

Johann captaining and playing CM. Should have played there far more for us this season rather than square pegging Odobert there.

3rd generation he is. Eidur made his Iceland debut getting subbed on for his dad, I believe. Football runs in families there.Holtyclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 7:55 pmEidur Gudmunssons’ son starting (suddenly feel a lot older)
1-0 Iceland. Shame they didn't make the Euros this time, they must be the best nation per capita in football.

Superb play by Kane.
Can't help but wonder if VK will give him a run out at LB

Iceland nearly conceded from fannying at the back. The obsession with Guardiolissimo needs to end.

Re: England vs Iceland
England playing some good stuff, looking sharp. Southgate’s got a big dilemma how to fit both Bellingham and Foden into his lineup. We look v dangerous when Kane drops in and has runners off him from either side and on that basis Gordon has a real chance of starting.

Not sure what you’re watching. England are zipping the ball around with 1 or 2 touches.

Both our full backs limiting us quite a bit here. Walker’s delivery woeful as ever and Trippier doesn’t have a left foot.

Re: England vs Iceland
Harry Kane disrupts the balance of the team. I wouldn’t start him. No need to be coming so deep all the time when you have that ability to finish.

Re: England vs Iceland
Ran out of ideas after a lively opening. Gordon has been too isolated on the left and we’ve been guilty of rushing the final ball.
Re: England vs Iceland
Crying out for Grealish
Mainoo, Foden and Trippier been awful he offers nothing as a left back.
Kane still playing as a third centre half instead of giving us an outlet up top.
And this squad is the best in the world apparently

Re: England vs Iceland
Aye, this 1-2 touch football zipping the ball about has got Wembley bouncing.
Re: England vs Iceland
If Shaw is out we're going to be really unbalanced. Even if Foden plays on the left he'll be constantly wandering infield.
Re: England vs Iceland
Imagine not starting the best striker in world football. Blows my mind people think like this.

Re: England vs Iceland
I agree Foden has been abysmal.
Theres been some positives.
I think Geuhi has played well. Gordon has got himself in some good positions (although his final ball has been lacking).
Saka and Eze to come on and run at them. I would even suggest bringing Wharton on for Mainoi
