Happy Holidays

Post by JanetM » Mon Jun 10, 2024 10:05 pm

Spotted on holiday with granddaughter and family in Sant Tomas Menorca[img]. Got talking to a couple of young blokes.
Pointed out our scarf and asked who they supported. Real Madrid they said. Right.
They had heard of us and Vincent Kompanyt. Told them we'll be back playing them soon. They smiled and made their exit.

I love things like this.

Very well done to all the clarets that take shirts and scarves abroad with them to places like this. It’s great to go on holiday and find Burnley memorabilia.

Our scarf is faulty though. There’s a word missing “not”. :)

I went in a little bar in the village of Cambrilles (now swallowed up by Salou) in the late eighties when we were all but forgotten in the late 80’s early nineties and was pointing a Burnley scarf hanging on the ceiling out to my dad. The landlord spotted us and came over; “Ah! Turfa Moor, Bernleee!” He said with glee. He had family in Leyton and had asked for a scarf when he found out his relative was visiting Burnley watching Orient. “Great team… Ray pointer, John Connolly!”
