No idea but his poor performances where a major factor in our getting relegated so he needs to keep well away from social media and any criticism of Burnley fans, who never turned on him despite some glaring errors .

Not a smart move. This situation is entirely down to poor management by Kompany

Not sure how that is disrespecting Burnley fans but some of the stuff aimed at him on various sites if he has had a pop back at someone fair play to him.

He has probably then been told that some of those who criticise can't cope being criticised themselves and get a bit precious and defensive.

Some football supporters are notoriously precious and defensive. They like to dish it out but are shocked if they get anything back.

Going off on a tangent, i can remember my dad (grhs) dishing out abuse to Andy Mutch against Stockport years ago. He was shocked when Andy turned round and offered my dad out, pointing him out in the crowd and giving him the w****r sign. :D

I've been critical of Trafford but I don't even see how that's about Burnley. I take it as being about the article/guy in question and if people want to read more into it that's on them.

Maybe not by every supporter but i heard plenty of booing around myself in the CFS.
Also, constant shouts of Muric whenever Trafford touched the ball.
Plenty of abuse online, he was even getting snide comments when he was not in the team on here.
He also had to remove comments from a post online due to some of the grief he was receiving.

We even have supporters on here posting fingers crossed emoji when saying Trafford may leave.
Now like i said it wasn't every single supporter and wasn't the majority in the ground but to say he wasn't given a hard time is quite laughable.

On the same theme but yes going slightly off on a tangent I can recall a similar incident involving Steve Cotterill years ago.
One of our fellow 100 Club Members was a big mouthy Cockney who shall remain nameless. He used to give Cotterill dogs abuse from a few seats behind the dugout. Effing and Jeffing at him and asking him if he wanted salt with his chips with the wrist actions.
I used to tell him to behave himself but he couldn’t help himself and kept on doing it.
After one match Cotterill rightfully had had enough of this mouthy git and turned around to him at the final whistle and said to him “come down here and call me a w@nker big boy”. Of course the big mouthy one bottled it despite me and my brother urging him to go down the front and tell Cotterill what he thought of him face to face.
It was quite funny from then on in the 100 club until Cotterill left. I used to take great delight in reminding the mouthy one about the day that Cotterill had “offered him out and handed him his @rse”. Very funny and it served him right.

Even threads completely unrelated to him turned into opportunities for some posters to get a dig in.

What’s he said to criticise Burnley fans?

The fans as a whole didn’t turn on Traff or Muric (after his calamities).

Seriously, I have no wish to get into another argument but Trafford was not given a hard time. There was a bit of vocal dissent it in his last couple of home games but nothing like you say. If there was more than 50 to 100 people chanting Muric I would be very surprised.
The snide comments you refer to on here can’t be deemed as giving him a hard time, it’s a messageboard. Not sure if snide is the correct term either?
I don’t know anything about comments he removed from a post online, unless you are referring to this deleted tweet?
Let’s not get carried away and let our opinions cloud the facts. It’s not right that anyone should boo, or abuse one of our players at the match. However, the morons that did (and it was confined to the CFS) were a very small fraction of our support.
Perhaps being in the CFS is sometimes like at away matches when you have the misfortune to be around dozens of coked up boozed up pr!cks who cannot behave themselves and let the club down?

The abuse isn't just confined to the 90 minutes of the match, there is more than enough nonsense aimed at him on here (especially during games by those not attending) and twitter is worse. Maybe it is those rather than the match going ones the target if anyone was at all

Bloody hell Jamesy. You don't half get defensive.
I am also not looking for an argument.

There is no denying that Trafford had an hard time from some supporters. You deny that it happened but then admit it was a small fraction. The size of the crowd giving a hard time is irrelevant. 10 supporters or 10,000 supporters, it happened.

You also mention - let our opinions cloud the facts, when this is exactly what you are doing.

The stuff i stated regarding Trafford are not opinions, they are experiences that i lived and witnessed first hand.

In all seriousness does anyone think that Burnley players ever come on here? I personally don’t think they do, or if they do very few and rarely. I think they are far removed from what we think. The only time they get criticism they know of is when on the field and Trafford, despite his faults, never really got much stick from the actual crowd.

I imagine very few do, do you think players read tweets sent direct to them or replies to club comments like when announcing team news

If i was a young lad with plenty of time on my hands and had people talking online about me. In all honesty, i would search it out, to my own detriment.

I also don't agree with your statement " the only time they get criticism they know of is when on the field.
Try telling that to the black England players who got dogs abuse online after the penalty shoot out after the Euros. They definitely noticed it.

No idea but his poor performances where a major factor in our getting relegated so he needs to keep well away from social media and any criticism of Burnley fans, who never turned on him despite some glaring errors .
What glaring errors?

Every Fan Base has it's plonkers

But I think Kompany set him up for a hard time and wouldn't blame him if he's give a bit back...

I don't think this is a 'Burnley Fan' issue though .... any fan base would have struggled having their keeper changed that was rated the bet keeper in the championship and the new keeper have a totally different style all the while losing every game

I feel for Trafford and Muric .....

Trafford isn't the reason we got relegated .........

Funnily enough a good example is the last game of the season ... Forrest fans booing Muric cause he was dire for them .....

He'll have a great keeper to learn from in Pope, good luck to him. Victim of circumstance.

Regardless of what happened at the ground. Trafford hasn't "disrespected" Burnley fans. That's just the desperation of a few people who haven't felt to be offended enough recently and want something to cry about.

It is possible that Trafford has via an internet "like", disrespected those fans who have disrespected him on the internet. Well, tough. They deserve it. And if that doesn't apply to any of us, if we haven't disrespected him on the internet, then he hasn't disrespected us.

Large portions of our home crowd? Seriously?
Getting carried away now.
Loads of it in Jimmy Mac lower, throughout the season

Also, would live to know just how many of these'glaring errors' actually resulted in him conceding a goal?

In all seriousness does anyone think that Burnley players ever come on here? I personally don’t think they do, or if they do very few and rarely. I think they are far removed from what we think. The only time they get criticism they know of is when on the field and Trafford, despite his faults, never really got much stick from the actual crowd.
A young, social media savy guy not reading comments about himself online, really?
