He played before you were born.
As a few others are TRYING to tell you - he was NOTHING like the wingers we have.
What will it take for you to understand this?
I know he was nothing like any of the wingers we have because Blake had end product.....none of the current wingers did last season.
So your confirming you NEVER saw Blake play....wow

Not really because Bruun Larsson is an Hoffenheim player who won't be with us next season otherwise different story altogether
So what he did for us doesn't count, then? OK.

It doesn't count when we are discussing what the current wingers we have can do no, if he was still here then yes

Benson 11 goals and 3 assists in the promotion from the championship
Blake 8 goals and 12 assists in the promotion from the championship
I know which I'd pick
You specifically said wingers, I don't know how many times, or how many people need to tell you, Blake was not a winger. Vokes scored goals, ings scored goals, wood scored goals, but I wouldn't pick any of them ahead of Benson AS A WINGER

But Blake's record counts despite the fact that the majority of his goals were scored for other clubs? A bit weird, don't you agree?

Blake did play wide for us, Benson played wide for us.
Are you talking about a traditional winger because Benson never played that for us he was always the wide forward.
Benson and Blake have both played the same role

Nope because they haven't played premier league football for anybody else or we could use their overall premier league records couldn't we

What a pair of ignorant arses.
Tell you what, why don't you just argue in public.
At least we get to laugh at you both.
Idiots.

Well, if you want to see it that way. But I would counter that if you wish to consider a whole career's goalscoring you may have to wait a very long time to make that comparison

Your missing the point of the original debate though.

I think it’s about the manager of Burton menswear but Next is decent too.

Page 60 of a new manager thread has turned into a benson vs Blake debate. Most threads do end up going off onto different tangents but this is frightening

I would give a manager a one year contract .. with a 3 year extension if he gets us up ..if they don’t want that then they can’t be too confident

I can’t see a Manager of good repute agreeing to that. Its so important we make the right appointment so I’ve no problem with Pace & co taking their time. A quick fix is not what we want.

Blake and Benson. Start a new thread. Read the thread title. This is about our search for a new manager.

I agree about taking our time to make an appointment ..we don’t want to give someone a 5 year contract .. we were very lucky with Kompany but it could have easily cost us 10m to get him out ..

60 pages in and its finally happened.
This thread is no longer about who the manager might be
It's about bumba demonstrating what an incredibly indepth knowledge of the game he possess
And for that reason and to get thread back on track...
I'm proposing bumba as next manager , go for it sir
