Congratulations to Embolo who becomes the first player to ever score at a championship when his underpants were falling down.

Spain vs Croatia. Modric still going strong despite how old he looks. I've seen fewer wrinkles on a walnut.

The commentary in the Spain - Croatia is muffled at times making it difficult to hear what they’re saying.

How good is it to just be able to watch competition football.
Not just about England but just the tournament itself.

Peno Croatia....never made contact.
Scored after goalie saved. 3-1
Ruled out encroachment still 3-0.

Re: Euro 2024
What a bizarre passage of play. Firstly, why dive and not just put it in the open goal. Secondly, if its a foul, that's a red card as he's not attempting to win the ball. How has var not overturned it? Ah, the refs Michael Oliver...

Further to that, there's clear encroachment but the keeper looks way off his line to make the save so why not a retake.

Re: Euro 2024
Farcical VAR again.
Never a penalty (why didn’t he just finish it?) but at least the goal was overuled due to encroachment.

Re: Euro 2024
If obsessively playing out from the back can cause a cockup in the heart of Spain's defence when under pressure then it will do the same (and more) to ours.
Again, the lads last year weren't set up with a platform to succeed one jot.

I'm watching it on TV over here, they showed an angle from the side and it looked good tbhquoonbeatz wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 6:44 pmFurther to that, there's clear encroachment but the keeper looks way off his line to make the save so why not a retake.

How are people saying it wasn’t a pen? Rodri had literally zero complaints. He seemed happy to receive just a yellow?

Why is everything that comes out of your mouth anti-Burnley?CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 6:46 pmIf obsessively playing out from the back can cause a cockup in the heart of Spain's defence when under pressure then it will do the same (and more) to ours.

I appreciate the fact you don't understand the game, but can we put that to one side. Why is everything you say against what we do?

Re: Euro 2024
Rodri did make contact but the actual fall came from Petkovic “tripping” by stubbing his toe into the ground
Rodri wouldn’t have seen that so thought he did cause the fall
Re: Euro 2024
There’s minor contact with the leg which causes one to kick the other. And perhaps I didn’t see the Rodri finger wag, though I’ve seen him cry to refs enough at City to know it wasn’t anything like he would usually!
Re: Euro 2024
But his contact literally did cause the fall, as you said Petkovic tripped over his own leg but only cause Rodri’s contact made him.

it's a contact sport, contact does not mean foul.

Perisic clearly not up to speed with the rules for Euro 2024 either. Only the captain is supposed to be allowed to approach the referee.

Hopefully the next game isn't over by half time like some of them so far have been...
Re: Euro 2024
Fully agree, but in this case he appeared to trip the player with a deliberate movement. I’m surprised it wasn’t a red.

Really?
Bit of a yawn for me.
Mind you I've never been able to get excited much when either Burnley or England aren't involved.
