Wouldn’t surprise me if Pace hasn’t sounded out Southgate should he decide to step down. A long shot I know but I get the impression that Pace is a little bit more savvy than people give him credit for.

He’s more of a sporting director, isn’t he? But just imagine a Cruyff at Burnley

It’s an interesting thought that we might be interviewing DoF’s in and amongst the managerial candidates though.
I know Bellamy talks a lot about his inspiration from his Dad.

Good grief. Even as our current national team manager, I couldn’t get excited by a Southgate appointment.

With several interviews apparently having taken place over the last week, it would not surprise me at all if there was an announcement Monday or Tuesday. If there isn't, that could suggest that Tudor, or some other left field candidates are still under consideration.
Very much doubt that Southgate would be interested.

Burnley have blocked esteve from playing at the Olympics, is that because Henry knows he’s coming to us and what’s his star CB for first game of the season??

Hmm, hope he’s okay with that. Would point to injuries not clearing up before the start of the season though, I agree.

I reckon it's more likely we want to keep him fit to sell him.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 10:25 pmBurnley have blocked esteve from playing at the Olympics, is that because Henry knows he’s coming to us and what’s his star CB for first game of the season??
My instinct is that Esteve is actually someone we'd get a decent return on, and I wouldn't be shocked if we quickly cashed in.

I hope you’re wrong but if Branthwaite goes to United for huge money I can see Dyche coming in for him as rumoured. Dyche knows a good defender when he sees one.Indecisive wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 10:44 pmI reckon it's more likely we want to keep him fit to sell him.

I play walking football with a Croatian guy who still does a bit of sports broadcasting. I messaged him earlier: "What do you know about Igor Tudor?" He replied "Was a great player good coach but rigid and arrogant..no compromise.. have his ideas and difficult to accept advises."
I responded: "Sounds like Tudor may be a good replacement for Vincent Kompany."

Re: Next manager
I hope so, too. I think Esteve doesn't have a big ego and knows he would benefit from season in the old Div 2. It didn't do Colin Waldron any harm.

Re: Next manager
I think if we could get around £20 million Esteve will likely go. Think he could he ona few clips radar and we managed to bring him in for a comparatively low fee.
Re: Next manager
I'm certain he would go if that sort of money was available. We need to sell players, and we have more good centre backs than we need.Indecisive wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 12:47 amI think if we could get around £20 million Esteve will likely go. I think Nixon is on a windup. Every suggestion has been chronic. Bruce has been on a downward spiral for a while now. Nixon is trolling us.

I suppose a week is actually not that long to ask people to wait for a decision in any normal interview process, I suppose I just expected these things would be done differently.

If there's any truth in the stuff that has been in the media in the last couple of days, and this from Nixon, maybe new man in post by the end of the coming week? That would be ideal really - we want it sorted.

Re: Next manager
I am beginning to think that the confirmation of our manager, hopefully this week, might surprise everyone (in a positive manner), and maybe no one that has been appearing strong on the betting. Alan might be playing a blinder-lets hope
Re: Next manager
The more stupid things come out of Nixon such as Bruce and Pardew, the more I wonder if we are intentionally feeding names out to the press as a smokescreen.
There's absolutely no way Pace would consider Bruce but Nixon is usually fairly reliable so starting to think it's an intentional strategy to try and keep the real name under wraps.

If memory serves correctly Southgate was manager of Boro. And was very average … I don’t think he’s a good manager. … oh wait its coming home …lmao
