Been off grid at Download festival this last six days. I can see that RVN is hot favourite now and that we seem close to appointing a Swedish manager as a No2?

I have had a flip back through but cant see much else other than pointless bickering/ Have I missed anything else of importance?
If reports are to be believed
It’s Dane Henrik Larsen as No 2
To either Bo Henriksen another Dane or Henrik Rydstrom a Swede
Right set of Henriks

both sound very interesting prospects.

But why would either leave their current clubs to come to Burnley? Is the pull of English football that great? Or is it the money??!!

A strong leader and captain.
Speaks well.

Typical UTC, something gets mentioned as pure speculation, 3 posts later and we have commentators running with it. Like it's gospel.

Remember the Mark Robins link - Was being reported to be everything but the position Pace said there had been discussions over.

Looks like there are a wide range of discussions going on - regardless of where and who we end up with.

No idea why, but I agree - and it’s a name that excites me from what I have read. Putting aside the potential winnings from the spontaneous 100/1 punt on the bloke who’s name I’ve already forgotten, he’s the one I’d be most pleased with at this present moment.

Maybe the money and the prospect of a genuine promotion, which looks good on the CV, and to the Premier League with the likelihood of more money.
Then do Rubbish and maybe get the Barcelona job

No but there is an intriguing and left field link to our "new assistant manager." Is it concrete? It's very sure of itself.

It's all very weird.

I'm still OK with Lampard and beginning to lean towards Ruud Van Nistelrooy, but the speculation about Rydstrom after the link with the Jensen appointment is very interesting to say the least.

I'd have nothing against Lampard or RVN, but somehow it feels better being linked with random Scandinavians that we've never heard of before, and who themselves couldn't find Burnley on a map of Lancashire.

But there is an actual link to Jensen, although we don't know how reliable (doubt any of us reads Swedish media). No actual journalist or even "ITK" has mentioned Henriksen or Rydstrom. That's just pure speculation. Maybe Jensen will be assistant manager to someone else. Or maybe he won't be coming at all.

The Burnley Express has reported that a Swedish newspaper has speculated that Jensen will be our new assistant manager.

https://www.burnleyexpress.net/sport/fo ... es-4668487

'Burnley are to make the surprise appointment of Henrik Jensen as a new assistant, according to reports in Sweden.

Swedish newspaper Expressen claims the Danish coach missed training as manager of Kalmar FF this morning ahead of a prospective move to Turf Moor.
'

Posters here have then speculated that the new man could be someone who Jensen has previously worked with (Rydstrom or Henriksen) pretty reasonable I think.

Doubt there's any dodgy translation.
Whilst there may be nothing in the rumour, if it is true, he certainly won't be coming in a lowly capacity. His current team finished 6th last season in the Swedish top flight. (They are not doing well this year but I gather from a local that there are currently huge internal problems with the board)
Whenever he leaves Kalmar it will be to a far better post than Burnley Under 21s!

It feels far too random to be a rumour without substance. I'm not familiar with scandanavian journalism but it's very matter of fact, and who there would make that connection on a whim.

This link seems to suggest that Pace is piecing together a coaching team/backroom staff BEFORE a new manager/head coach has been appointed and he's chosen Henrik Jensen as assistant coach due to his philosophy on how he likes his team's to play, which matches how Pace wants BFC to play.

Could it then suggest that the new manager has been chosen and has agreed for Pace to set up the backroom staff, as I would think that would be a bit of a risky thing to do otherwise? 🤔

He has managed a women’s team as it happens. I can’t see that though. The current women’s manager seems very highly thought of.

Could it then suggest that the new manager has been chosen and has agreed for Pace to set up the backroom staff, as I would think that would be a bit of a risky thing to do otherwise? 🤔
Yes this is a real possibility.

The worry is that we learn that VK had been given too much control and then swing too far in the opposite direction.

He’s got to have selected a manager there’s no way we are hiring assistant managers without the managers approval
