Also thought the same, but the only name I could think of was Roberto Martinez!

Re: Next manager
I panic every time Bellamy is mentioned. However if it was him there would be some degree of info flying around close sources, which would be reflected in the Bookies. Last time I looked he had drifted to 20-1

Re: Next manager
I don't understand all the talk about hiring an assistant before the manager as he HASN'T signed a contract it's just a leak of information.NewClaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 11:00 amPretty significant development if true. Translation for those who don’t speak Swedish!
Henrik Jensen leaves Kalmar FF.
According to information to Expressen, the Dane is in the process of becoming a new assistant coach at Championship club Burnley, something that is expected to become official shortly.
Kalmar FF has had a very difficult spring season in the Allsvenskan. The team is second last in the Allsvenskan on ten recorded points and needs to reverse the negative trend.
On Monday morning, the local newspaper Barometern reported that Henrik Jensen is leaving Kalmar FF as the Dane was missing from today's training, which is instead led by Stefan Larsson.
Now Expressen can tell you the reason for that. Insider reports say Jensen is just details away from signing for Burnley in the Championship.
Leaving for Burnley
The parties must agree and the only thing left is to sign the contract. In Burnley, who fell out of the Premier League, Jensen is expected to become the new assistant coach.
If all goes well, the plan is for the club to make the whole thing public shortly. On Monday morning, Expressen tried to get in touch with Jensen's agent Martin Dahlin for a comment. Sports director Jörgen Pettersson has also been unreachable.
It's obvious someone has leaked it from the Jensen's club.
The fact that we don't yet know who the the manager is simply means it hasn't become known to the press.
Through the whole process Alan Pace has kept everything very quiet, the fact we haven't yet heard who the manager will be is unsurprising.
The wording that leads me to this assumption is...
"According to information to Expressen, the Dane IS IN THE PROCESS of becoming a new assistant coach at Championship club Burnley, something that is EXPECTED TO BECOME OFFICIAL SHORTLY."
"THE PARTIES MUST AGREE AND THE ONLY THING LEFT IS TO SIGN THE CONTRACT"
IF ALL GOES WELL, the plan is for the club to make the whole thing public shortly.

and also Vincent Kompany who was nothing short of superb in the Championship123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2024 2:06 pmIt would be extremely underwhelming and strange that after so called list of 100 manager names we end up sticking with Bellamy and bringing a random danish manager from Swedish league as his number 2.
But this is ALK who appointed an estate agent as director of fan experience so anything is possible

Not sure if this has been posted already but this article is interesting and alludes to his friendship with David Moyes.
Surely it couldn't be Moyes......could it??

Good hunting!
That would be a bit more than acceptable. Bit of succession planning as well.
But from the article it could be Sarri or Pep as well

Think Moyes said “definitely not” or words to that effect to a fan in Lytham recently. Of course he would be unlikely to spill the beans that he’d signed, but I think unlikely.billyhamilton82 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2024 2:17 pmhttps://onefootball.com/de/news/henrik- ... s-37010524

I’m not sure he’d fit the ALK profile as he plays a pretty traditional style of football and, as experienced as he is, West Ham got smacked for 5 or 6 more times than us last year! I’m not sure how he’d do with a much smaller budget and can’t see him wanting the potential reputation damage. The only thing that makes me wonder is that article + his location being very convenient in the latter part of his career.
I’d love a Fabregas or a RVN. I think they’d be so good for our profile and if they did well are most likely to earn us another fee if Alan has got the taste for that. And I think both are intelligent enough and natural winners to successfully navigate the championship at least, especially if Alan keeps the best of our team together.
I think the most likely from what I’ve read now is Bo Henriksen. His man management seems to be very well regarded and maybe that’s what we need now.
Beyond that, Lampard and parker aren’t bad choices I don’t think. They would both offer something.
Re: Next manager
If this Henrik Jensen rumour is to be believed and the previous comments about the new possible manager working as a pundit on the Euro's so getting new assistant in to oversee training etc whilst he is away working looks intriguing.
After yesterdays names appeared of Bo Henriksen & Henrik Rydstrom, I really wanted it to be Henrik Rydstrom who's tactic video was insane.
Reading now, personally, if I was a betting man my money would be going on 2 others and not the above mentioned.
Kjetil Knutsen & David Moyes are the 2 I personally think are involved in the negotiations but obviously could be completely wrong.
My money would be going on Moyes as he has worked with Henrik Jensen before in 2022 I think and Moyes is also working at the Euro's.

It's not Moyes.
As I posted last week..I saw Moyes in Clifton Street Lytham walking his dog. I asked him outright if he was going to be our new manager at Turf Moor. He said " not at all' ...I asked him who he thought then he said " haven't got a clue"
He was very nonchalant about it but polite and why would he tell a Burnley fan a lie!!!!!!!!

Highly unlikely Moyes would start a new job without his usual assistants so while you are right he would keep tight lipped, on this occasion I’m pretty sure his denial was the truth.Sheedyclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2024 4:31 pmLike he’d tell a Joe Public fan if he’d landed the Burnley job

Re: Next manager
“ nowhere near fit enough “ You’re seriously suggesting players were playing while nowhere near match fit ?? and thus inducing injury ?? Maybe you’re on the wind up ? If so fair enough , but the suggestion our starting XI’s were lacking in cardio is an almost ludicrous assumption.
We were being given the runaround by pretty much everyone for most of the season and this leads to a slight “ cup tie effect “ eg a prem club vs a div 1 club where there’s no aneorobic /areobic difference per se , but the endless chasing out of possession leads to ultimate fatigue . Late season we looked as outclassed as we’d always been tbh. Not saying a degree of mental tiredness and lack of real passion wasn’t in evidence late on ,but to even allude that these players were totally unfit is almost laughable .
